To save you the bother it’s a load of cliches. Doesn’t see a problem, money there to spend in January, blah blah blah.

Sparks has run a few ideas up the flagpole and Adams is saluting them, there’s some low hanging fruit to be picked, the club isn’t sailing in financially choppy waters, a bit of blue sky thinking has been done out of the box and there are some circles to be squared in January. Wembley is our Wembley this season. Or something

You could put Klopp in charge, with Jesus as his assistant and Moses doing the coaching - if Theo Robinson is your main man up front, you ain't scoring goals.

 

If this is sustainable football you can keep it, give me quality even if there is risk involved at least there is a chance to speculate to accumulate. Austerity is never a success. The budget will shrink year on year if we carry on like this.

I really hope Adams understands what we need, its down to him this window- he cant blame Turnbull now.

We need to stop signing players who look good on paper, but just cant hack it at City. I've lost count how many times have I thought we' d got a player who looks the part based on previous form (usually at struggling clubs). Gillead is the perfect example, he didn't hack it the first time round, did well in a poor Scunthorpe side last season, but he just cant do it for us, hes not good enough. Pretty on the eye footballer with no end product.

Watt may well do well in a higher league, but his basic passing all season has been abysmal. Ok he looks keen and ocassionaly plays an amazing pass, but if he cant frequently pass 10 yards without setting the opposition off on a defence splitting move then I'm afraid we need better.

Gary Jones talked a lot of sense today, we need lads that wont shrink under the expectation. You've got to hand it to Parky , he made some questionable signings, but he generally signed players who he knew could handle the pressure. Ravenhill, Thompson, Darby, McCardle, Connell, Jones they all had the mentality we needed to get out of this pit and they all understood the DNA of the club. Players we could identify with - we havent had this in a long time!

 

People like that annoy me. If you are going to use a platform to grandstand and proclaim greatness or predict greatness don't be surprised when you get called out when your greatness is shown to be nothing more than Emperors New Clothes

 

Absolutely disgraceful. I sincerely hope the numbers of those who did this can be identified and dealt with accordingly. Regardless of opinion and debate on message boards such as this, abuse direct to Sparks phone is completely unacceptable.

 

There was a Rupp out banner but someone persuaded them Stefan is the saviour and it was cancelled.

Lets deal in facts:

I said the squad lacks quality
I said Gillead was an awful signing.
I said Adams needs to understand Bradford City isn't Morecambe
I said Sparks is a novice CEO
I said Rupp is a shite owner
I said we will draw more games we should win because we lack quality.
I said we can't count just on Cook and Cooke.
I said we train at a school
I said we don't own our stadium
I said we don't know the value of these so called sponsorship deals.


It's clear you can't handle the truth!

 

It's fans like you who have held our club back for so long, happy to bump along in old 4th division now league two.

 

As most people could see this before the season started, I assume the failure to address the problem and Lee Turnbull leaving are related.

 

It's wonderful throwing money at football but it doesn't always work in the lower leagues. Look at Glenn Tamplin at Billericary Town - threw fortunes into the club. He's left. They're still in the same non-league division. Why Sparkes took on Adams is because our manager is much more 'moneyball'. Do the detailed research, bring in players who've been overlooked or not 'played' properly for cheaper, build them up and create a squad. Against all the odds, he did this brilliantly at Morecambe - got promoted after starting the season equal Odds Checker favourites to get relegated. I think Adams is still an important January window away from getting that right for us this season, but I wouldn't worry just yet. If we're in and around the top six come New Year, I'd have us for promotion.

 

The simple reason why Morecambe did not fight to keep him was that a deal by Bradford to sign him had already been agreed behind the club's back. Adams although he got promotion was not a well liked manager and was abrupt when approached and clearly saw MFC as a stepping stone to so called bigger clubs. His playing style although result wise was successful it was far from being attractive to watch and in some games was so boring that it was like watching paint to dry. It's not surprising that he's now under pressure and it will be interesting to see if as expected he says 'sod it' and returns over the Border sooner than later to his first love, assuming that they would have him back. The failure to sign Stockton has been his biggest failure to date but no amount of money could persuade Stockton to stay in EFL2 when he had the chance to prove the doubters (of which there are many) wrong about being able to survive in EFL1. He's currently the leagues leading scorer which proves that he has what it takes. I wouldn't be surprised if before Christmas that Adams is either shown the door or he walks himself. The guy doesn't like to be challenged and if things are going wrong he will blame those around him rather than look at himself.

 

We get one at the end of every game, just not the one we want at the moment.

 

So what happens if Adams walks or gets sacked? He’s been appointed to make changes in all departments.. What about if the next manager wants to implement his own ideas?
The clubs structure shouldn’t just be designed by the current manager.

 

Mate, this is the best post I've read on Bantam Talk for bloody ages. No messing, straight to the point of the actual problem. In a nutshell, this is where we are because of the shite that has happened. And you're spot on. Pay to get us out of this mess, Rupp!! Respect.

 

You're incredibly naive if a) you don't think he was having recruitment discussions whilst at Morecambe and b) would come to this club if he had players signed for him by someone else.
