Adams & Sparks out!

So according to news today we are adding to the recruiting side Salford head of recruiting that Adams has worked with before. That being the case looks like Adams is going no where and is planning on rolling sleeves up to get out of the mess we are in. This being said I will judge him this time next year he has January and summer to build on what he thinks is a quality team. And I think we are going to have to put up and shut up till then. And if this time next year we still in this mess he definitely can go.

Interesting rumour, bit of conjecture, doesn't sound concrete at the moment though.

I see the £1m rent millstone/excuse is being trotted out again today. It's about time we looked beyond that.

The rent is £370k, not £1m. The rest is running costs that we would be liable for even if we owned valley parade.

Yes ours might be slightly higher due to the size of the stadium but all clubs have utility bills maintenance, and upkeep costs aswell.

This £1m "burden" is just an easy excuse every year when justifying poor comparative budgets

 

True, but it does help when fans are doing their beer mat maths and calculating how much money we should have.

 

Also.. Ipswich and Sunderland aren’t where they are because of fan expectation. It’s down to poor ownership and management. Something we are all too familiar with.
Do I want to sack managers after 6 months? No of course I don’t. Do I expect us to be a top 4 club in this division. Yes I do. That’s not toxic that realistic based on our squad and based on our budget.
We can list the players who we don’t deem good enough but nearly all of our starting 11 would walk into most other league 2 starting 11.
Gillead who has been absolutely turd all season had a choice of clubs this summer. Songo’o could be playing league 1. Paudie and Canavan would be starters for 90% of any other of the other teams along with Cook, Cooke and probably Vernam.
Adams is getting it wrong somewhere. Either that’s coaching, over working the players, man management I don’t know but it’s not working and it needs to change. Obviously I’d prefer for that change to be that Adams turns it around.
Oh and neither Silva or Parker are “proven” PL managers and have actually failed more than they’ve achieved.

 

He only dropped Morecambe because we offered him more cash.

I’d say if we are in same position this time next year he will be shown the door as he will have no excuses about lack of input into recruitment

Good to hear, personally i think the squad is close. Im giving Adams January to get those extra additions we need. We will still have 27 games to move up the table bolton did the same last season perfectly possible.

personally i think Ipswich should have stuck with cook, when clubs expect things too quickly it creates more problems.

they both have had very good stints in the pl. is potter naff because he hasn't achieved anything??

Most of this squad has actually played at league one level l, albeit with varying levels of 'success'. And let's not forget two complete unknowns in Trueman and Sellars managed to get 10 wins out of 15 with a squad completely failing under another manager.
I fully expect this club to be in the playoffs after a successful January transfer window. Its upto Adams and Sparks to make it successful, Adams bleats about not having this and that in terms of players, we'll this is the clubs chance to rectify it. If they don't and we don't hit the playoffs at the end of the season then that is complete and utter failure and the people in charge should be treat with contempt. This is Bradford City we keep hearing, a club too big for this level. Well for Christ sake let's start acting like it.

 

I'm guessing it's the same as the original signed deal. A few times we have asked for it be changed so we'd pay less in L2 then we would if we higher up the pyramid but Gibb said no.

Can't imagine the terms of the lease would include rises of any particular scale, otherwise they could just price us out if they so wish.

 

Sooner we leave the better for me, tragic really but why pay good money for a half empty ground. L2 Football and attendances dont justify it. Unfortunately i dont have a suggestion of where wed go but it seems almost part of the problem these days now its not ours. Just another thing to thank Rhodes for.

That deal on the rent payments was offered by the pension fund but turned down by Rhodes

I have no doubt he is going to get January irrespective of what happens in the remaining matches this year - all I would say is if things are still dodgy come March then Sparks has a massive call to make.
I do agree with Fordy to a degree that if it wasn't for our recent record with managers and the numerous aspects that need fixing within the club then Adams achievements to date with City would already leave him highly vulnerable
