Well where do we go from here ?

 

Hate the chop and change approach we have, it doesn't get us anywhere but this one needed to happen. There just wasn't a fit with the squad, the fans, the style. Just a big no.

I fear for the next bloke who A) has to work with this squad and B) has to try and get a tune out of it when a big chunk of his starters are out of contract in 4 months and will have already mentally checked out and begging to get a fresh start.

Exactly.....here we go again...a manager given half a season, we start again from scratch.

Weirdly, they didn't add at the bottom of the statement that the managerial search is under way. Usually they add something like "as we look for our next manager X is in caretaker charge". This one just says Trueman is the caretaker with immediate effect.

I wonder if Trueman will just have it until the rest of the season?

 

I see sparks saying the same thing he said before Adams took over on a new direction for the first team manager- bullish!t.

We clearly need someone in to implement a long term strategy this time, this regurgitated crap about a 'new direction' is completely pointless if we are just going to swing like a pendulum from a playing football style to a results at all cost (appreciate we don't seem to get them) football 'style'.

Whoever the new manager is and whatever approach we decide to adopt, they need to be given 18 months as an absolute minimum.

Don't get me wrong I wanted Adams, Bowyer out etc as you cannot just persist when it clearly isn't working. On that basis, I would go for someone who is going to try and create a side more who play the modern way. This may mean that we go down the youthful manager/experienced assistant route - didn't Craig Bellamy throw his hat in the ring previously? No one immediately springs to mind though so I would commence a proper recruitment process and consider what applications come in.
