McElhenney is famous for his TV series Its always sunny in Philadelphia and Reynolds for his Filmwork including the deadpool marvel character. They are pretty well known to be fair

Thanks RT. I lead a sheltered life perhaps ? I don’t watch a lot of TV perse, other than some sports and Newsnight for my daily news. Is football a “ plaything “ for tax write off’s similar to Salford?

Ryan Reynolds is extremely wealthy. And one of Hollywood's top earners. He also sold his investment in his Gin company for around 600 million dollars. Most of his investments seem to go well so interesting how Wrexham turns out

I bet the actual documentary brought in a few quid ........... they both come across as likeable going all out to involve the community and the volunteers at the club ...........

i wonder how much it cost Reynolds to make the documentary in the first place. All the companies involved seem to be linked to him

I've seen conservative estimates around $3million. Add that to the ridiculous amount of publicity world wide and big name sponsprs on board i'd say they've clawed back most of the investment put in. Obviously the TV series ain't gonna last forever so that cash cow will disappear. Take my hat off to them though, they've really sold the club to an untapped market

is it some sort of cash fiddle for financial fair play? Seems a lot for a club to be paid for a Tv series plus the companies involved in making it etc seem to be owned or very well connected to the two owners.

To be honest mate I've no idea. I'm not sure how FFP will affect Wrexham if they get promotion.

Guessing they will still need to pay them next season, unless they are on a huge promotion bonus and still on lower wages next season?

I see they managed to lose almost £3m July21-June22 even though their turnover was five times the previous year to almost £6m. That is one hell of a loss, spending 150% of income.

    Pocket change for them.

People coming in and covering losses isn't a bad thing. People spending money they don't have is the issue.

I have to say when I first heard they were taking over my first instinct was what do they want with Wrexham? However they have come in and really taken the club on, being involved and not showing zero interest in it and seeing it as a play thing.

And to a man woman and child the City have backed them and in years to come they will reap the benefits of this. A brand new stand is being planned.

They are everything Salford aren't in terms of regenerating a club.

550 Salford fans at Stockport tonight. Laughable for a 20min journey for 5th v 6th.

thing is they are loaning the club money. Out of the £4.9m they put in that year £3.7m was a loan to the club, so the debt sits on the club

That's an impressive turnover for an NL club and would exceed the turnover of many League 2 clubs even before the additional solidarity payments are added in. Wrexham's problem will be how to sustain what must be a high level of player costs once they are subjected to the EFL's SCMP rules. That will be a particular challenge.

Credit to the owners though. They've put their own dosh in and appear to have a longer term vision in place.
