Surely they would be better to actually put money in now rather than debt so it doesn’t sit on the club when they get promoted?

I don't understand why that would be the case.

I hope Phil Parkinson gets them up it will be good for league two, but they aren't home and dry Notts County are giving them a run for their money although Wrexham have two games on hand.
When their new stand is completed they will have a ground capacity of 15,500.

If directors put money into a club it tends to create a directors loan account.

Their idea will be that in due course the club moves up a few divisions and they can claw some money back.

They could put £1bn into the club and it would show as a debt, but if they don't call their own debt in there is no issue.

People don't tend to gift millions to a club as they can claw it back tax free If they leave it as a debt they control.

If directors put money in as loans then I don't think it counts as income for the FFP rules but if they invest it as shares then it does.

Yep as you say if they don't call the debt in there is no issue but if they get bored and do it will kill the club.

Well done Phil Parkinson another promotion under your belt, although you've been well backed by your owners but as we City fans know that doesn't always bring success, unfortunately we might be seeing you once again at Valley Parade next season.

Well-backed is a massive understatement, I think. Happy for Parky, but at the same time, I am sick of hearing about this Hollywood/fairy-tale bollocks. Hope we stuff them twice next season.

I think even Ryan Reynolds managing the team himself could have got them promoted with the amount of money they've spent. I'm sure I read somewhere that their wage bill is more than 12 of the other National League clubs COMBINED.

Did you see what Chelsea spent in the closed season did them a lot of good, having money and spending it wisely are two completely different things, I'm delighted for the guy.

It's different with Chelsea though. They're in the top league and have tried to bring in the best players for that league. With Wrexham they've brought in players of a higher league quality. The gulf in class is huge. I'm not doubting Parky achieved something, but I don't think it was that difficult. The achievement is nothing compared to what he did here a decade ago.

Chelsea brought what many would class as quality players in during the closed season yet Potter couldn't get a tune out of them.
    Enzo Fernandez - Chelsea, £106.8m.
Mykhailo Mudryk - Shakhtar Donetsk, £88.5m.
    Benoit Badiashile - Monaco, £35m.
David Datro Fofana - Molde, undisclosed.
Andrey Santos - Vasco da Gama, undisclosed.
Joao Felix - Atletico Madrid, loan.
    Noni Madueke - PSV, £29m.
    Malo Gusto - Lyon, loan.
I agree with your last comment with regards what Parky did at Valley Parade yet some say the football was shite, 4 seasons of some of the most exciting football since the Premiership days.

I've enjoyed the TV series of Wrexham and their very rich owners but couldn't care less for their promotion or for Parky either. I don't support the club and Parky hasn't been at our club for years. What it does show is money makes a huge difference and its correlation to success cannot be underestimated. Forget Chelsea, they're just owned by another version of Rahic, nearly all clubs with financial backing will be successful and Wrexham are no exception. I don't think that squad as it stands will run away with leaguer 2, the midfield is pretty ordinary but i'm sure they'll just buy their way to the top.
To be fair i wish, like any football fan, that they were at our owners, they don't live in the past and have a modern approach to ownership but still respect the history of the club.
