Mark Howard had a trial at City when Parky was manager. He rejected him then, but now seems to have changed his mind.

Are they penny pinching. Don’t seem to be signing much on silly money or am I behind with the news?

Wrexham signed Jordan Tunnicliffe too from Crawley. Was out of contract and rumoured to had L1 offers but has now gone to NL, he was in the L2 team of the season in 2021. Crawley also offered a deal, but Hollywood seems to be offering better deals that NFT FC are.

Think they are just slow at getting going this summer, only two in but two good free agent signings for that level. Looks like the transfer budget got a decent boost yesterday, with a £1.2m cash injection filed.

I don't think they need to add a lot to finish top this season.
The Keeper Lainton got injured with about 10 games left which probably cost them.
By bringing in Howard as GK and upgrading in a couple of areas (Tunnicliffe for French), they probably think they have enough.
They are 6/4 to win the league, so the bookies think they are by far the most likely winner.

So they must be unsustainable even after the two Wembley money spinners if they need funds pumping into the business. Why pump cash in if it’s not required. ?

That was said last season too. It’s not hard for managers to suss Parkys tactics. Put “Snow” on free kicks and throw ins. That’s basically it!

The budget is the most important part of the transfer process and as such Sparks will have the final say on what can and can't be done. The others will work within the remit Sparks sets
It was painful to watch them at times. I watched a few of their games and I'd expect a team with the highest budget in the league to play a better standard of football than that.

I'm surprised he's still there to be fair. He's fortunate that he has chairmen there who don't recognise good football (yet)

Last season with moneybags Stockport in the league you mean?
If Parky is so poor, where will Wrexham finish next season?

No idea, what I DO know is they can’t spend like that again when promoted. I hope you understand that?

I don't understand. Wrexham will stop spending when they get promoted?

Stockport definitely haven't stopped and I very much doubt Wrexham will.
Both want to be in the Championship ASAP.

If Parky is so poor, tell me where Wrexham will finish?

They should have achieved promotion last season. I'm very surprised the Hollywood guys kept him on in all honestly

Keeper got injured near the end of the season which cost them.
It was always doubtful both Stockport & Wrexham would get promoted.
Anything can happen in the play-offs. Grimsby's run was amazing, with the late winners.

It wasn't their keeper that cost them going up, that was down to a manager not spending a massive budget to its full potential. No sugar coating last season for Parky, he failed big style.

I'm not so sure. They're in a much better place than a year ago squad wise, selling out regularly.
6/4 to win the league this season. Only Man City have shorter odds than that.
115 goals scored last campaign.....boring, boring Parky.
115 goals scored last campaign.....Parky's so easy to work out.

Also, must add that Wrexham are under FAW transfer windows, unlike the rest of the teams in the National League. So when Stockport strengthened in March, signing players from the Championship to get them over the line, Wrexham couldn't do that.

Quite right Kevin. They are now subject to EFL accountancy rules on spend v. income. The NL, NLN and NLS were given the opportunity to vote on EFL standards and declined in favour of spend, spend, spend. However, once in the FL they have to abide by the EFL rules and if there is an excess (possibly due to previous spend levels), then the owners/ Directors are personally liable to make up the difference.

That's how Trevor Birch, EFL Chief Exec. explained it to me last season when he visited and we spoke about it.

Thanks Roger, great input, explained far better than I could. You first hand experience is greatly welcomed.
