Wrexham & Parky

Wrexham finished 2nd. Did he fail on his objective of promotion? Yes. Did he fail 'big style'? Absolutely not.

 

Well he got Bolton and us promoted on limited budgets. Both clubs were in crisis mode prior to his tenure

Sunderland and Wrexham were one of, if not then, the biggest spendings in their respective leagues. An having one of the biggest budgets in the leagues means expectations are risen. You’re practically expected to get promoted, if not then win the league

I still believe Parky will get Wrexham promoted this season. All he needs to do is build on last season a bit an strengthen that defence

 

What's this season got to do with last season? I couldn't care less about what Wrexham do this year, my whole point was that Parky failed despite being given the best budget in the division by some distance. If he succeeds this year good luck to him. But after watching a fair bit of them last season (they were on TV a lot) Parkinson, in my opinion, is not the right manager to take Wrexham forward. The football they played at times was no better than semi pro teams in the same division, I'd say Dave Challinir would have got them promoted last season. Facts don't lie, Grimsby are playing league 2 football next season Wrexham aren't.

 

Jesus your like a dog with a bone , if your that interested in what Parky and Wrexham will do next season go watch them instead of repeating yourself over and over.

 

It was literally a three horse race and Wrexham came last. Unless you count finishing above the likes of Halifax as some sort of achievement.

Not answering my question. What did they win?

 

Finishing second and losing the play-off semi-final IS failure to achieve their ultimate goal. However, they came close finishing as the second best team in the regular season and failed in the lottery of the play-offs. Big improvements had been made based on the previous season and it's refreshing to see owners without twitchy trigger fingers who can see the bigger picture.

Keeping Park will provide continuity and I suspect they will win the league this time round.

As I said before, failed? Yes. Failed 'big style'? No, they just missed out.

Anyway, enough chatter about a club we don't support. Let's talk potential Bradford City transfers...

I didn’t want to get involved in non league chat but you and Roger are spot on, second with the biggest budget and a cup final against a far smaller team defeat. Next time Man City end second and lose the final of the league cup to Fulham we’ll see how it’s taken, because the aye the equivalent.

 

Very debateable that his budget was bigger than Stockport's.

I think with his budget and a team already decent, he would class not being promoted as a failure. If the season had gone on another month they would have done. I expect them to go up next year.

 

Id agree with Jimmy, it was a failure in that they failed to go up but they made big progress and only just missed out.

they had a sticky spell mid-season but got their act together again and went on a run. Don’t think his job is under pressure yet

 

Parkinson is the best manager we’ve ever had. Its all relative, but getting to a major cup final with a L2 team is a feat no other City manager has, or will ever, achieve(d).

even when Jewell kept us up in PL, we were, at worst, the 20th best team in the country, and the same is true for any team that’s champions in any season - you are at worst 24th best!

Just can't understand the negativity towards Parky after all he did for us.

 

Was it you that had a go at me for calling Morais a legend? And then Parky leaves the club and wipes out all the player information in the clubs possession and takes it with him to NOTLOB. Classy don't you think?
