After Tshimanga got injured and was out for the season, they couldn't replicate his goals.

    Think that’s harsh Roger.

The Conference was fiercely competitive last year. Halifax, Chesterfield, Notts County, Grimsby and Stockport are all decent teams and Solihull came with a wet sail. They are unlucky, really, that only one team goes up automatically and they had to scrap in the playoffs.

They got closer than when eighth the previous year, improving their points haul by 20 and also getting to a Cup Final IIRC.

Yes, they didn’t win the league but he had quite a bit of improvement to find when he came in.

They’ll be stronger for that season under PP and win it this year.

Finishing second and losing the play-off semi-final IS failure to achieve their ultimate goal. However, they came close finishing as the second best team in the regular season and failed in the lottery of the play-offs. Big improvements had been made based on the previous season and it's refreshing to see owners without twitchy trigger fingers who can see the bigger picture.

Keeping Park will provide continuity and I suspect they will win the league this time round.

As I said before, failed? Yes. Failed 'big style'? No, they just missed out.

Anyway, enough chatter about a club we don't support. Let's talk potential Bradford City transfers...

I didn’t want to get involved in non league chat but you and Roger are spot on, second with the biggest budget and a cup final against a far smaller team defeat. Next time Man City end second and lose the final of the league cup to Fulham we’ll see how it’s taken, because the aye the equivalent.

Very debateable that his budget was bigger than Stockport's.

He would certainly be I my top 5 managers I've seen during my time watching Bradford City, I always though no matter who the opposition were a Parky team could always get a result, obviously the Capital Cup and FA Cup runs were extra special IMO.

That's an impressive turnover for an NL club and would exceed the turnover of many League 2 clubs even before the additional solidarity payments are added in. Wrexham's problem will be how to sustain what must be a high level of player costs once they are subjected to the EFL's SCMP rules. That will be a particular challenge.

Credit to the owners though. They've put their own dosh in and appear to have a longer term vision in place.

I think even Ryan Reynolds managing the team himself could have got them promoted with the amount of money they've spent. I'm sure I read somewhere that their wage bill is more than 12 of the other National League clubs COMBINED.

Did you see what Chelsea spent in the closed season did them a lot of good, having money and spending it wisely are two completely different things, I'm delighted for the guy.

As we've discussed mate I've have my doubts why these two took Wrexham on but the more I watch them both last night as an example on a blog similar to CityVent they came across as very approachable guys who were prepared to listen.
I believe they did their homework with regards who they wanted in crucial positions bringing Parky in with his knowledge of lower end football and Shaun Harvey for the non footballing side on a consultancy basis, just how far they can take Wrexham only time will tell but IMO they have started to build the club with the correct foundations, I don't think the Championship is unrealistic for Wrexham, but Wrexham fans need to realise that might take several seasons.
Money doesn't guarantee success but it sure does give you a better chance, yes I'm one of the jealous fans you mention.

Uncle Shaun is a Director there. He will be well versed in all that and guiding them on the rules given his EFL background. And probably where he went wrong at City and Leeds!

I think it's only fair the entire League 2 season is put back till Mullin is fit.

I'm with Simon on Parkinson being a tw#t. He went down in my estimation when we played away at Bolton. Wasn't so much the physical stick given to Cullen (our player) on the pitch, but the verbals from Parkinson were an embarrassment

I remember that vividly. Cullen was clearly in some pain when Parky leaned over him and shouted something at Cullen in a very aggressive manner. Parky went down in my estimation too after that. I was astonished when Cullen later went on loan to Bolton.

Wrexham signed Jordan Tunnicliffe too from Crawley. Was out of contract and rumoured to had L1 offers but has now gone to NL, he was in the L2 team of the season in 2021. Crawley also offered a deal, but Hollywood seems to be offering better deals that NFT FC are.

Think they are just slow at getting going this summer, only two in but two good free agent signings for that level. Looks like the transfer budget got a decent boost yesterday, with a £1.2m cash injection filed.

That was said last season too. It’s not hard for managers to suss Parkys tactics. Put “Snow” on free kicks and throw ins. That’s basically it!
