I see just now over 5% of L2 play off club players tested have been positive. Just do promotion and relegation on PPG and get it over with until clean start with crowds in November as I keep forecasting.

I always found Law to be underrated and a little disrespected in his last spell. He wasn't everyone's cup of tea but some of us did appreciate what he was good at. He's certainly excelled at Exeter by winning 2 POTY awards there since joining and has been much more amongst the goals than he was here. I'm not one to clamour for ex players to return but due to Stuart returning and our lack of midfielders, I would take him back.

 

What do you expect when you let your best striker go

 

The fallout on here would be epic if they reduced capacity.

I agree Rod, regionalisation is not for me either, I was hypothesising. Over the last two or three seasons I've got into and enjoy the train to some away games although more costly. London, Crawley, Swindon, Bristol, Southend, Portsmouth are all easily done in the day and I would miss that. In addition regionalisation with less promotion and relegation would lead to less variety of opposition, the very reason the old North and South was scrapped in the first place, at least one of the reasons.

 

League games against Halifax, Barrow, Fylde, Harrogate. How many STs do you think we’d sell? Who’d want to come and play here? It’d be tantamount to being relegated.

 

I once showed my previous seasons card by accident and got in, so how do you expect them to police who was at the last game and who’s turn it is next?

 

We haven’t really gone out to fight for the playoffs all season, why would be start now?

 

I agree. But I sincerely hope that someone at the club is trying to convince him of the merits around pushing for a real promotion tilt next season. It’ll be a buyers market like never before and we could assemble a quality squad - quality even by L1 standards - for a price that would normally be unrealistic. If he wants to invest and give himself a chance of a future sale at a decent price, he’s going to have to do something. Seeing us tread water and defer to ‘hope’ will likely see his current investment dwindle further.

 

Agree, we wouldn't be starting from a good place would we but should be achievable year 2 maybe..

 

Let's hope we get wage caps per division so that we never have to hear any more drivel about cheap tickets being a bad thing.

My understanding is that the figure for Div 2 being talked about is £2m. Personally I am all for this - gets us away the current crazy business model of football - that to key to success is finding an owner with the most money !!

With any budget cap like this there are tricky issues to resolve with its introduction - how to deal with existing contracts , how to deal with loans, signing on fees.

Taking about loans - I would suspend them for the next 2 seasons for Div1 & 2 - there is going to be plenty of footballers out of work who willing take short-term contracts - so why give a 2nd job (via a loan) to a player who is already in a job.

What else would I change - again for Div1 & 2 sides - ban them from paying agents - there's going to plenty of players out there available - if a player wants to use an agent to get him a team fine but he pays the agent.
