You do realise form wise Salford had a better chance of getting playoffs than City right? Over the last 6 games they were 5th meaning they had better form than a City, Northampton, Colchester, Exeter, Plymouth and Swindon. And they were only 8 points away from playoffs

Salford tried to show loyalty to the players that got them up and then wanted to lower fans expectations. Us on the other hand had one of the worst managers in our history and stuck with him for far too long.

Suppose we failed more than Salford but Salford could have gone for it.

Garry Neville is playing everyone He knows Salford will leap clubs now and Mansfield will also.

I just believe that we misse sour opportunity and I also think Salford and Mansfield will finish above is if next season happens.

    Bradford City are done!

Who's said that salary caps can't be introduced?

They are used in other sports and in the EFL, a form of collective salary cap is used in the EFL's FFP system for Div 1 and 2. I might add that it is a highly flawed system in the EFL and needs to be tightened up considerably to make it effective!

So you should only have ambition if you’re a premier league club? Good to know if United ever end up in the second tier again I hope you’ll be happy becoming a feeder club for the big hitters like Bournemouth and Watford. It’s competitive sport of course teams have to look after themselves, but when one organisation hogs most of the money then it should be distributed a bit more fairly or clubs will go to the wall. But you and other PL fans and clubs have already shown as long as the ‘20’ are all good who cares.

This summer window is a buyer's market for the first time in years. Nearly 1500 players out of contract with most clubs having strictly low budgets to work with. An excess of players and skint clubs means players will have to significantly lower their demands otherwise they'll be out of the game completely.

David Sharpe is right. For a stable L2 club like ourselves, L1 players this summer will be available for wages that would've been laughed at last summer such is the situation. Strangely, it's probably the best chance of an affordable yet quality rebuild for clubs like us and Mansfield.

I made a similar point a few weeks ago. If ever there was a time for Rupp to double down and give himself a real chance to re-launching this club, this summer is it. There won't be many, if any league 2 (or league 1) clubs with wealthier owners.

Im fine with Mansfield and Salford finiishing above us next season. I would be happy with 3rd.

Saying Bradford City is done is a massive over reaction

You mean me the person who has said I would welcome more money to be given to the EFL if it's used to make the EFL a better product that is a place where all players can grow because they have facilities worthy of clubs generating the revenue they do. A place where good football is played and bigger clubs are happy to send players out on loan there and a place for players who aren’t in PL academies to develop or where those released from PL academies have a chance to get back to the PL either by growing with the club or by getting a move up the levels to the benefit of the club. A place where just like PL football people not just in England but around the world are more eager to watch so revenues increase (and when we get back to having fans where the better quality in football sees more match tickets sold)

Hiding behind a 'ambition' excuse when most clubs show no ambition whatsoever rather they just 'play it safe' and comments about not wanting to to be a feeder club (I'm sorry to break this to you but City have been a feeder club by your definition most of its existence, it was selling players for more than you acquired them that even helped you reach the PL) just come across as excuses. Some clubs in your league do show some Ambition (Crewe and Salford) as they invest in the training side, employ more modern techniques and try and play better football but what most including city do is they just expect to be supported by hand outs by a league that has worked hard to make it something people want to watch

There is not a hope in hell that Mason Greenwood was being considered as a potential loanee to League 2! I must have read that wrong surely?

Really? City a feeder club??? We only have our youth players poached at a young age, we only have Wells and Wyke that have moved on for bigish money for I don't know how long.... You are honestly in cuckoo land if you believe for most of Citys existence we have been a feeder club.

Are you trying to get a rise from people with stuff like this? City expecting hands outs? Can you tell exactly how City have ever expected hands out? Utter nonsense.

I'm thinking more in the PL and Europe, where allegedly, maybe houses and cars could be offered over any monetary payments....

Every club is a feeder club, you’re missing my point probably on purpose. I have no problem with losing good players who want to better themselves to bigger clubs with bigger pockets, but that isn’t the only purpose of professional clubs outside the top flight. I mean it was only ten years ago Bournemouth were in league 2, should they have sacrificed all their money to develop training facilities and techniques? Or wait until they hit the big time then do it? If premier league clubs are so bothered about lower league clubs improving facilities then fund it themselves, because £10 mil to a premier league club is probably less than 10% of their budget whereas it is over 200% of a club like ours. See why we don’t have these super duper facilities? Salford have more money than most which is why they can do it, and where does it get Crewe? The odd season in league 1.

Also I’ve not said give EFL clubs a bigger slice of the pie, not permanently anyway but whilst so many clubs are facing going bust then those in the most fortunate position should lend a hand as I’m sure they’d want it if the shoe was on the other foot.

Instead of £180 mil? In TV money or whatever it is every club could take day £160mil for just one season, and spread the £400mil among the lower leagues with the condition it’s not to spend on new players but to keep the clubs going as most lower down the food chain won’t be able to afford to play behind closed doors next season without help. I’d say if the PL care one bit about all other clubs then it’s a small price to pay, to reduce their own budgets for a season. So what if a club like Everton can’t spend £50mil on Richardlison, for a season if it means saving 10 clubs who all pay tax and have 1000s of fans who’ve followed them through thick and thin for years?

Not saying United particularly were considering it but Greenwood had a number of loan offers at the start of the window last summer and Peterborough were one of those being talked about. Peterborough chairman claims the fee was £200k plus wages which when the players who did goto league 2 on loan did so with no fee and 30% of wages tells you the approach was on someone of higher regard.

    Got to agree with this.

Rupp and SM have a real chance to really make the budget count next season.

Imagine the telephone call between agent and player:
Agent "Player I have 2 clubs after you, Mansfield"
    Player "Ok"
    Agent "And Bradford City"
    Player "On my way"

Surely we have to use every advantage we have to get some quality in the door. Now could be the start of a new era in City's history if the money is made available to hoover up any real league 1/Championship talent for league 2 wages.

In your 107 years of existence you have spent 12 seasons in the top division. Considering it's only been in the last 20 years really that the swing has happened from the top division recruiting players from the Lower divisions to instead looking abroad by @WilsdenBantam@WilsdenBantam definition of a feeder club then yes City would fall under the feeder club banner. It’s not me saying they are a feeder club as a feeder club go me is one that only exists to feed players to a specific club not developing players for their own use but at times making a business decision to cash in when it makes sense long term

Without doubt. I am confident I will be in a seat in VP by October ! It might not be my usual seat because we are all going to space out a bit. It might be that I only get in to one home game in two till 2021. Meaning we only have half of our season ticket holders at any home game and no away fans !. I expect to watch alternate home games on Ifollow and all the aways for the price of my season ticket. But with some common sense and a bit of for thought yes I'll be watching City at Valley Parade next season. Everyone will make their own decision. If you vunerable you dont go; but the rest of us have got to get back and help the club get through this . Lets keep positive; because this cannot carry on much longer ?.

I once showed my previous seasons card by accident and got in, so how do you expect them to police who was at the last game and who’s turn it is next?

The Peterborough chairman would have walked all the way to Old Trafford and handed over £200k for Greenwood in a breath.

I think that tells you that they were talking about someone a lot further down the pecking order than Greenwood.

Plus Peterborough have not been in league two for a long time have they? Think his grievance was with Liverpool about them wanting 100% player wages whether they played or not

Simples. You are given a badge to wear which says either odds or evens. You then attend all even numbered or odd home games accordingley. :p
