So charging more for a TV pass than an actual ticket was for this year? Can not see that working

I made a similar point a few weeks ago. If ever there was a time for Rupp to double down and give himself a real chance to re-launching this club, this summer is it. There won't be many, if any league 2 (or league 1) clubs with wealthier owners.

Of course we want promotion. We just don't have the level of planning, leadership and organization to achieve it. We think wishing, cheap tickets and clapping really hard will get the job done.

That's the better option which would return us to where we were when I first started watching.
    PL, formerly Division 1.
    Championship, formerly Division 2.
L1 North, formerly Division 3 North.
L1 South, formerly Division 3 South.
Leave the rest of the pyramid as is with less promotion and pyramid returning to part time, there is no way clubs as far down as York City should be full time it is just not sustainable in my view.

Not sure about getting giddy, I think it is a terrible idea. As I posted at the weekend after reading in the Mail on Sunday, it will feel like we have been relegated into non league to me.

You make claims that the EFL somehow wastes money because the PL has put money into the EFL begging bowl via the solidarity payments. But you fail to mention how the PL continues to sudsidise the PL clubs who have been relegated and still receive enormous sums via parachute payments. To make the point, the PL continues to pay parachute payments to only 6 clubs which is about 3 times what the PL pays in total to the other 66 EFL clubs as solidarity payments. These 6 clubs are clubs which have failed at the top level but continue to be subsidised through an old boys' club! It's the parachute system to the 6 failed clubs which inflates the wages in the Championship to an unsustainable level which other Championship clubs without parachute payments are then forced to follow to be competitive. But you haven't mentioned that aspect of the PL funding system. And whilst we're at it, you also criticise EFL clubs, most of which have turnovers in the range £4-8 million outside of the championship, for wasting the £500,000-700,000 they receive as solidarity payments. And at the same time, you recognise that many clubs in the PL make losses on turnovers in excess of £150 million! I could even name two PL clubs which make losses even when their turnovers are circa £400 million or higher. Now who is wasting money there?

You make out that somehow the PL is well run and efficient and if only the EFL clubs were as equally well-run and efficient, they wouldn't be in such a mess. EFL clubs do make mistakes and probably do waste some money but many live a hand to mouth existence on modest budgets. Have a look in detail at the PL clubs and explain how with their vast resources, most still manage to be loss making and some of those losses are eye-watering on equally eye-watering turnovers. That's what I'd call being wasteful and inefficient!

ps As far as I know, the Belgium 2nd Division (really called Division B) is the division just below Divsion A ( their top Division) and better equates with our Championship rather our 4th tier Division 2. Drawing comparisons between Belgium's Division 2 with our own Division 2 is really pointless other than their names are similar if used incorrectly.

This summer window is a buyer's market for the first time in years. Nearly 1500 players out of contract with most clubs having strictly low budgets to work with. An excess of players and skint clubs means players will have to significantly lower their demands otherwise they'll be out of the game completely.

David Sharpe is right. For a stable L2 club like ourselves, L1 players this summer will be available for wages that would've been laughed at last summer such is the situation. Strangely, it's probably the best chance of an affordable yet quality rebuild for clubs like us and Mansfield.

All 3 already have spoken recently as you well know. Nowt much more to say right now.

I will happily wait until a final decision has been made by the EFL about how to end the season and then hear from the powers that be at City.

I fully expect planning for the next seasons player recruitment is already in full swing and calls may already have started to sound out potential candidates.

You are a symptom of the new age of supporters who need the news NOW. Its like a drug for you. I bet you have news now feeding into your imaginary merc.

You would not have coped in the 80's when you either had to ring an 0800 number ( and get a bollocking from your parents for the resulting phone bill  ) to get news or wait until the T&A was delivered or the Pink on a Saturday after the game.

I don't think it's that lockdown has helped to be honest. It's more that lockdown has directly caused the drop.

There was something on the BBC the other day that suggested that there were still 150,000 infected people on the UK. let's be positive and say that's wrong by 100%, even 75,000 people being infected will cause carnage without a lockdown and immunity.

10 weeks of lockdown has brought it down to that number of cases. How would 5 months of freedom reduce that? The more freedom = the more infections, I dont see how that can't be true and you can't track and trace tens of thousands of people especially when they value their privacy and freedom.

Anyway. We're getting off the point.

By autumn we either need to have the possibility of crowds (not gonna happen) a vaccine (not gonna happen) or the PL offering to give money to League 2 (even less likely than the first 2) otherwise there ain't gonna be football at our level.

Playing behind closed doors for a full season is an awful thought, and cannot see this happening.

Count me out forking out £250 for a season ticket to watch it on IFollow or whatever. There is no way I would pay more than we do now to watch it on screen with no atmosphere

Not sure about nail in our coffin, but it is a terrible idea, I cannot imagine City being one of the clubs mooting the idea.

I would rather play the likes of established league clubs based in the south than northern non league teams.

Went past their ground yesterday, significant construction works still ongoing. By the way Fordy, contrary to your post weeks ago I do not have some sort of love for Harrogate. They are my nearest club, with York second but my one and only love is BCFC and has been for 65 years. I just take an interest in local life here in Wetherby and a number of people I know follow the team. The only contact I have had was about 5 years ago when they asked me who we used for summer pitch work.

They are bailing out companies that are essential to this country trying to get schools back and being hampered by the looney left.
Yes they are taking risks here and may have to put the brakes on but we have to try and get things moving now.
