100% unprovoked. As Bigrod has mentioned, it was a dedicated family area we were in at the time, and never even a chant aimed at the Man Utd scum from our area. You had to be there to understand the disbelief we had as families with kids watching the cowardly scum attacking families. Hated Man Utd ever since

Ever thought the club might have been giving home fans ample opportunity to buy tickets for the day, leaving them plenty of options?

We've checked the ticketing portal and seen lots of spare seats still in home end so took the option to sell another 330 tickets guaranteed than wait for home fans to buy some?

But no, lets use it to bash the club... again

I guess (I am sure someone on here will know the answer), that they will have a significantly smaller wage budget and will generate less sponsorship, gate money etc.
The people who really should be asking the question are our owners!
I guess one significant factor will be that Accy are a relatively stable club, where there is gradual change rather than the brutal annihilation of the squad and replacement with a group of strangers. But then again I do not, ‘know about football’, the way some others do.

I agree with Onside..hoping for further signs of improvement in application, organisation and a little bit more in the final third.(back and front). That in itself would be good progress with the players available.

One thing is for sure, Sunderland won't go up, they were very very poor.

We competed today and I was worried we would get turned over 3 or 4 once you look at their line up. Cattermole, McGeady, maja, Maguire, Power et al all too good for this level.

And then you see we had a young lad in O’Brien and a Center half in midfield against their midfield and you have to think it wasn’t the worst performance we will ever see. Plenty of battle and fight and on another day we draw or even score the penalty and go on to win.

Now we cannot continue to beat the hard luck drum and we must defend better. Second goal in particular is where we miss a dominant Center half to head that away and take some
    Pressure off.

We looked to have worked on the long throws and set pieces and the way we have gone for creating chances we have to look to them for a source of goals.

Up front we are powder puff and something has to give. Miller barely got a kick and we have to get Doyle back and hope something sticks. Brunker is garbage and should not be anywhere near.

4 points this week and 2 clean sheets. Games against teams like Sunderland are not where we will climb the league. We have to get back to winning ways next week and not slip back again. There was a lot more fight today and Scannels stupidity aside we competed with a very good side. A lot saying they were poor and won’t go up, just look at the quality they have and they were organised. I think they will be top 4 minimum.

We are weak all over the park and on the bench thats why we are third from bottom of league one on ten points.
Many have said before on here and I echo, recruitment in the summer was nothing short of shambolic.
The fitness regime installed and overseen under Collins tenure was amateurish to say the least. We are still playing catch up regarding that issue.
Hopkin will have to work miracles with our squad to avoid the drop the only saving grace at the moment is there are a few teams in our division who are also struggling thankfully.

On his left peg as well. Couldn't believe he didn't finish the rebound 1st time
Genuinely thought we'd go on and take the 3 points if that went in.
I maybe deluded, but I did

Happy with the performance today, just a shame about the result and I'm annoyed with Scannell for getting himself sent off and banned for the next 3 games. Hopefully that sets the minimum standard for performance and commitment for the rest of the season and if it does, we'll be fine but we can't afford to let standards drop.

I don't know about playing 'very well today' as you described it but we played better today than we have all season. But that is a very low bar indeed. Plenty of effort and commitment? Yes, but again that's against a very low bar. And I'm not convinced that our level of performance warrants such confidence to say 'we will soon be climbing the able'.

Today's level of performance/effort/commitment admittedly against one of the leagues's better team still produced only 31% possession of the ball over the entire 90+mins and let's recall that they were reduced to 10 men for about a third of the game. Without more possession of the ball than today's level, we won't get the goals to produce the wins to lift us very far up the table.

Today's effort and performance was encouraging but that's only given what we've had to put up with recently. But more is still required and I don't know how that will happen even when some of the injured players become available for selection.

Judge them when Hopkin has had ten games... Judge them after January Window... Judge them come august.

Bore off, you keep doing this. How about you live in the present. And just to add to that stupid comment, you really think we've anything that's currently missing that's going to make our midfield any better? Apart from Payne they're all well below average players to partner him.

We are indeed, but there’s nothing wrong with being pleased that we are finally seeing some effort and commitment from the players at last. McCall couldn’t get that out of the squad in his last few weeks in charge. Grayson couldn’t and Collins certainly couldn’t. With some improved performances and some players coming back from injury there are signs that we might be alright. Not good necessarily and no where near where we should be but at least ‘alright’

If Hopkin gets the chance to put his stamp on things with the signings he wants then I genuinely believe we can move forward. Given what we’ve been through over the last few years that’s a huge ‘if’ though.

    Its possible.

But if your minimum comment implies they might achieve autos, it's a no from me. They were light years behind Barnsley.

Stick a John Marquis or Keiffer Moore in that team yesterday and we have a chance of winning that game. Sometimes only takes one player to make the dimension of a team to change. Contrary to what Sunderland fans might think there wasn't that much between the two teams in yesterdays game despite their vastly superior wage budget. Whether that remains constant rather than one game? Probably not. I would expect Sunderland to be fighting for a top two place despite not looking any where near as good as Sheffield Utd did two seasons ago. As for us, well until that decent target man comes in we are gonna struggle and couple that with conceding soft goals on a regular basis, then we struggle to pull away from the bottom four.
