A bit of a Bantam Talk love-in developing on their fans messageboard. As I alluded to earlier this week, a good set of fans generally, as we saw the last time we played them

 

Although I live in Newcastle I work closer to Durham so know plenty of Makems. A far more down to earth bunch of supporters compared to the Toon. In many ways Makems are like City supporters, they have to put up with a “big” neighbour who suffer delusions of grandeur (us with L**ds, them with Newcastle - the local media / sky sports almost suck off L**ds / Newcastle whereas teams like us and Sunderland aren’t fashionable enough), they never seem too far away from the next crisis, they’ve had owners who have been out of their depth, and they know they’re shite but they’re loyal. A couple of lads who work for me who go everywhere are thoroughly enjoying this season as they’re seeing their team compete which I can relate to.

 

Even I got a mention on there. Think I’m gonna leave this forum to on where I’m more appreciated.

But seriously every time we’ve played Sunderland there fans seem a good bunch. Been to Stadium of light too and no issues. Jason Mcateer ran the show and we lost 3-0 I think.

Every time we seemed to play them we got stuffed apart from the odd game. The Cup recently been kind to us.

I remember Julio Arca being given the freedom of Bradford to come forward and score at VP once.

Good times.
