I'm sure youve heard the saying "the buck stops here" well from the end of last season once we knew Grayson was not accepting the job and every candidate Edin interviewed was not up for it in Edins opinion ( none turned Edin down were given to believe) Collins & co were not in the frame at that time so you have to assume Edin along with Abbott (who was awaiting an operation) made all the necessary arrangements for pre season friendlies ETC.
The players were recruited by the commitee with Collins throwing his 2 pence worth in and we finish up with the fiasco we have seen so far this season.
Edin and Stefan were happy to take the accolades in their first season when McCall got us to Wembley, so I dont think it unreasonable to lay the blame at Mr I know footballs door for where we are at the present time.
Edin really needs David Hopkin to dig him out of this self made hole we're in, because in most Bradford City's fans eyes it is very much of Edins making.

Gutted by yesterday's result felt we deserved more, if the penalty had gone in then who knows but that's all ifs and buts of course.
I'm no happy clapper but have a few positive observations from yesterday:
- Wood - remember seeing him for 45 minutes at Guiseley pre season thinking Christ I hope he's nowhere near our first team but he's really improving. He's a young player with little experience and has been chucked in due to injuries but he's really come on since this run of games. Think maybe he's got over initial nerves we could have a decent player on our hands
- O'Connor - quite like him in midfield did a good job and took his goal well - perhaps that's a position he could nail down. Wright seems meh, and who knows when Reeves will play again so let O'connor make the position his own
- Mellor - think that's the best I've seen him play, good pace overlapping well
Kai - kind of feel sorry for the lad. No lack of effort but definite lack of ability. As soon as both Ball and Miller were off i felt any chance of an equaliser evaporated.

Yet in reality, they've given people a couple of days tops, many who will be working right up until Saturday dinnertime to get down to VP and change their tickets with the cherry on the cake being they take your ST off you for the privilege and you have to go through it all again before the next match to collect it.
And all this for around £8000 when, if this is about money, we could have given them the whole MR stand and announced it a month ago.
It's really not rocket science and a professional club should have had the foresight and staff to have thought of this instead of trying to quell the criticism with a £10 club shop voucher.CL89, Utters0, thebantamhaslanded and 7 others like this. -

The performances was acceptable, the game was entertaining, but neither of those facts count for points.
We are no threat. We aren't winning games. We're on worse league form than under Collins. We are hopeless in front of goal.
Its a relegation story. We tried hard, we played well, but we didn't get enough points.

Now I might be in the Bruncker out camp but quite honestly compare the difference.
Davies was head and shoulders and streets ahead of nothing more than a squad number with the initials KB on his back.gildersomebantam, bantam2708, Onside and 6 others like this. -

Second half performance gave me renewed optimism for the rest of the season ahead.
We were clearly second best in the first half, but a lot of fight in that second half, and penalty miss aside, good performance from Payne again. Shame there was no experienced quality on the bench that we could bring on.
First time I've left Valley Parade for a while after a defeat not feeling down.

We are looking very poor at the minute without doubt but I watched the Coventry/Sunderland game before setting off to yesterdays game and they are not all that, I don't think were in for the result many are suggesting.

Really enjoyed the game and a million miles from where we were a couple of months back
Players putting in the effort is all you can ask from them until we can get folk back and new recruits
I thought the " you aint singing any more chant " followed by "we aint singing any more" was epic
Fantastic atmosphere and should have had a point ... but not to be

More shots 9, 5 on target, 1 more than them
Lost by 1 goal to a division top team
I can see slow steady improvement
But lets see what the verdict is, I expect to read of more rubbish from a poor squad of players methinksPineapple Salesman, RCarol, Bronco and 3 others like this. -

I came away feeling like i’d seen a cracking game of football where we started to look like a team unit. Unfortunately this highlighted our weaknesses even more, the defending of high balls in the box and the lack of real scoring chances and a target man that Hopkin craves. If only Hopkin had been brought in at the beginning of pre season, could well be our downfall this season.QCFC BANTAM, Pineapple Salesman, RCarol and 3 others like this.
