The performances was acceptable, the game was entertaining, but neither of those facts count for points.

We are no threat. We aren't winning games. We're on worse league form than under Collins. We are hopeless in front of goal.

Its a relegation story. We tried hard, we played well, but we didn't get enough points.

I remain extremely worried.

 

The effort was there but the defending for both Sunderland goals was shocking.

Completely agree. I’m growing tired of hearing, we put in a shift, and at least it was a good performance. Today is the first time i’ve felt confident of relegation. Result not Edin’s fault, but he put us where we are.

 

Arguably theirs was also bad. O'Connor stood by himself 3 metres out. Just they scored more. Until we score more goals we'll continue to comment on our poor defending.

 

I can give you one example at least of a player who used to come on from the bench and play football.Steve Davies was his name.
Now I might be in the Bruncker out camp but quite honestly compare the difference.
Davies was head and shoulders and streets ahead of nothing more than a squad number with the initials KB on his back.

 

That's our team at the minute so until we start scoring goals we must be one of the better teams at the back.

Enjoyable game full of incident, shame about the result. Good performance up to the penalty after which we were very poor. Tactics after the penalty were shocking, we played better when they had eleven. Terrible substituions.
Back four played like a unit but still have no idea how to defend balls into the box.
Good performances from O’Brien, Payne and Ball and Wood continues to improve.
Scannells brain fart means we have another less body in the squad for three games.

 

Effort was there but it's the ability that isn't every position has been weakened!

 

Thought first half we looked a yard behind. Second have we played better, a bit of fight. But, the difference in class is evident, their play acting winning free kicks is experience we lack.

You can only work with what you have got. That’s down the the powers that be. If we stay up this season it will be a plus. Not looking good though. Role on January transfer window, if Hopkin can bring in some experiences we might survive

 

We competed today and I was worried we would get turned over 3 or 4 once you look at their line up. Cattermole, McGeady, maja, Maguire, Power et al all too good for this level.

And then you see we had a young lad in O’Brien and a Center half in midfield against their midfield and you have to think it wasn’t the worst performance we will ever see. Plenty of battle and fight and on another day we draw or even score the penalty and go on to win.

Now we cannot continue to beat the hard luck drum and we must defend better. Second goal in particular is where we miss a dominant Center half to head that away and take some
Pressure off.

We looked to have worked on the long throws and set pieces and the way we have gone for creating chances we have to look to them for a source of goals.

Up front we are powder puff and something has to give. Miller barely got a kick and we have to get Doyle back and hope something sticks. Brunker is garbage and should not be anywhere near.

4 points this week and 2 clean sheets. Games against teams like Sunderland are not where we will climb the league. We have to get back to winning ways next week and not slip back again. There was a lot more fight today and Scannels stupidity aside we competed with a very good side. A lot saying they were poor and won’t go up, just look at the quality they have and they were organised. I think they will be top 4 minimum.

 

Edin has weakened every position from last year barring payne ?

 

Scannel has been a disappointment and cannot see what he brings to the table now his pace has gone, His stupid red card allows us the opportunity to give one of the younger players a chance to seal a place as his replacement,

 

And some f**kers clap for anything!

 

It’s almost as though he’s lost confidence to take a man on now his pace is fading.

We are weak all over the park and on the bench thats why we are third from bottom of league one on ten points.
Many have said before on here and I echo,recruitment in the summer was nothing short of shambolic.
The fitness regime installed and overseen under Collins tenure was amateurish to say the least.We are still playing catch up regarding that issue.
Hopkin will have to work miracles with our squad to avoid the drop the only saving grace at the moment is there are a few teams in our division who are also struggling thankfully.

 

It’s the high balls we can’t cope with. Would like to see the second again but is it Mcgowan who doesn’t win it?
