Ridehalgh is more than good enough for the left back spot, some on social media were saying Foulds was better but Hughes clearly on knows who his starting left back is. Arguably been out my most consistent performer this season

If Vernam does move on, then so be it. No hard feelings, he always put the effort in, never disrespected the club and he fulfilled his contract. He's 25 and his next contract will be a really important one for him.

Money talks, but I think there's a real footballing argument as to why he'd be better off staying here than going to Lincoln. He ended the season strongly but he didn't have a great 'full' season. I think he has the potential to play in the Championship in his near future, but the next step he takes will be instrumental in whether he gets there. I'm not sure he's ready to pull up trees in L1 and think the best thing for his development would be a season of tearing it up in League 2. At Lincoln he's likely to be a in a side who are mid table at best - I think they've topped out in terms of their recent cycle of success and you'd have to ask, how much is he going to stand out in such a side? Staying here, I think he'd have a real chance of shining in a side that could be at the very top end of the league, benefit from a year of coaching by a massively experienced, top level coach, and aim for a big move in 12-24 months, or possibly go into L1 with us in 12 months on the back of a great personal season and with club that has momentum

A 2-3 year deal that saw him being able to leave on a Free at the end of next season if we don't go up, possibly with a release clause at a certain transfer fee if an offer came in from L1 or Championship, could be a go-er.

Its all guesswork, obviously. He could go to Lincoln and fly. He could stay here and he/we end up tanking. But I think he could take a gamble in the shorter term on the basis that it might pay off over the longer term.

That sounds positive. Lets hope we've landed a gem.

I see some people dismissing it on the basis of 'we've signed a cast off from FGR'. I think that's misguided. He's only 20, and he played 22 times for the League Champions last season. At the same age, Elliot Watt had only played 12 League 2 games. At 21 Nakhi Wells was released from Carlisle.

It could go nowhere, or it could end up being excellent business.

He's got bags of time, and if he's got potential then he'll be under the perfect manager to tap into it.

I think Ryan is best suited to off the pitch responsibilities and I think the club looks a lot more ambitious commercially under him. I don't necessarily trust him regarding football choices after giving into Adams and his awful way of recruiting.

I think if things are going great on the pitch and we're lighting up the league and carrying momentum then Ryan is the man to capitalize on that. It can't be an easy position to be in when the owner is disinterested and declares the club 'self sustainable' now that he's ruined it, so Ryan is doing all he can with what he's got IMO.

Personally I found it exciting seeing us over in Italy securing a long term deal with a kit supplier. Shows a bit of ambition and pro-activeness from the club!

What an entertaining team that was. You would turn up to watch them and wonder how many we were going to win by.

I know we have played at higher levels with better players, but still my favourite City side of all time

That's all well and good....but as others have said we can't judge him as a skinny 19 year old 4 years ago...he's just outscored all of our strikers last season - including Jake Young. 4 years is a long time - boy to man.

But do you honestly believe that George Miller will be signed to lead our line though? I see it as one to give us options and plump up the striker options. He may well be 4th choice. I see that as an upgrade on Lavery, Elliott, Robinson and Delfuneso. And if we are down to the bare bones with injuries, suspensions, rotation etc then a striker who scored 12 goals last season doesn't seem a bad option as a 4th choice. That said, If they were to follow this signing up with a Dom Telford or someone of that ilk then it looks a far better signing....

8 goals in 28 games last year for Charles. A full season sees him get around 15 goals. Good numbers for a wide man.

    I dont mind him shooting.

Ridhalge had a good season in my opinion and will be our first choice left back next season

As it stands the first eleven is weaker than it was against Carlisle on the final day but the squad is arguably stronger.

We have to start signing players who will walk into the starting lineup. Smallwood and Odusina would be two in that mould so let's hope they get done and we sign another couple of that ilk.

is there a reason as to why there is a somewhat heated an very lengthy conversation going on in regards to the structure at Peterborough FC in a Bradford City transfer rumour forum?

I can. I'd like to think that we have first dibs on development loans, but that'll depend on the league we're in.

Its just a shame that all these young lads are hoovered up and put into academy and then U23 sides for 6 or 7 years. Some of these types of lads would benefit hugely from breaking through into L1/2 sides at young ages and playing first team football.

I still don't get the negativity on here towards Hendrie. He's a steady league 2 full back who will do a job. We should prepare for the possibility if we do get another RB it will probably be as back up for Hendrie :brig:

How big a budget is doesn’t dictate how successful your season is. Yes it makes a big difference, But its about how its managed, as we have learned the hard way over the last few years

Now to get out of League Two, You need

    1) A good manager who sets up his team well an can get the best out of his players. We have the most experienced manager in the League and assistant staff knowledgeable in the lower leagues

    2) A decent sized squad which won’t buckle as a result of a few injuries in certain areas. Our squad looks relatively strong baring RB an RW. We have multiple options in all other positions an in each case, We have players with League Two experience at a minimum

    3) Good Home Form. This one remains to be seen, 14k at Valley Parade can either scare players or galvanise them. We need to do our part an make Valley Parade a fortress

    4) 2-3 Players a league above in quality. We have Smallwood, Walker, Chapman. 3 players who could easily get into most League One teams.

    5) A strong defence. The additions of Odusina, Crichlow an Platt will bolster us. It can’t be any worse than our defence last year surely

    6) Reliable goal sources. Angol, Cook, Harratt, Young, Chapman, Walker, Eisa. These are players that are capable of scoring goals at this level given the oppertunity to do so

Im not saying we will crush the league, as much as I would like for us to do so. But our team is strong, We have a good manager, We have the best fans in the league. Thats not be being overly optimistic an egotistical. Those are facts. What other teams do doesn’t faze me, An non of them scare me scare me either.

We have started this summer strong. The core of our squad is here in time for the beginning of Pre Season. I see no reason as to why Automatics is not a realistic aim. Although truth be told, We should be aiming for the title

don't know why but I am getting massive Edin vibes from Crawley. Just buying players with quality (Eoin Doyle/Telford) but not understanding how they play. it literally just looks like they are buying all the good players expecting them to gel well. As Edin will tell you that 'strategy' doesn't work.

Calling it here folks Crawley is going to flop. Mid table at best.

Every year for the last 50 years , before a ball is kicked I’m so optimistic for the coming season , you would think I would learn but again can’t wait to get going again ,there will be weekends when I’m on a high , thinking this is a good team , then other weekends when I will be depressed about our chances , he’s to another season of watching Bradford city
