Hi guys, seems you’re interested in Liam Gordon one of the players we’ve just released at Bolton. Only 23, a very quick left back and many of us were both surprised and disappointed at his going. Evatt has signed Jack Iredale for that position to compete with Declan John so I suppose Liam was going to be third choice. Would be a really good shout for you and a profitable one if he continues to develop as he could? Good luck next year, it’s a disgrace you’re where you are.

Afternoon folks. Vale fan here.
Just popped on to chat about Harratt. We were hoping that Huddersfield would go up to give us a better shot of retaining Harratt for a season long loan next season. The fear being that if they remain in the championship, they may opt to retain him and start including him in their first team matchday squad. His owd man said as much when speaking to them on Wembley Way last weekend after the match.
To read of him possibly going back out on loan to league two is soul destroying. I'd assumed that if we was going back out, then the natural progression would be to join us in league one, with largely the same squad that have just played with him to gain promotion. He really clicked with our style of play and him and Wilson were some team.
He and his mad family have loved every second at Vale and we have fully adopted them, such is their enthusiasm. They're a great bunch.
As for Harratt's ability - well, we took him and Ryan Edmondson on loan from Hudds and Leeds respectively. Edmondson seemed to get more game time than Harratt and was a real lung-busting battler. Harratt was a little less experienced and showed his naivety now and then, which is perfectly understandable. But he just had something about him for the big occassion. He's fearless - he just wants to score goals with a wonderful direct nature. He's so positive and in time I've no doubt he will be an absolute goal machine. He has a very bright future ahead of him.
If you get him, enjoy him and look after him. He's a top lad.

Credit to Sparks and his team for wiping out an £800,000 deficit to break even or maybe being in the black is worth a little acknowledgement from said fans.hornseabantam, baggers, Bantam75 and 20 others like this. -
Well I'm very disappointed if this signing of the FGR lad comes off. He's not the right player for us.
Firstly, where's his track record for always getting injured?
Secondly, he's not the wrong side of 30 and at the end of his career.
And finally, why haven't we signed him on the last hour on transfer deadline day? This all smacks of having him tracked and lined up.
Not at all what we've come to expect from City's recruitment policy.
I think someone needs to have a quiet word with Hughes and Gent and put them straight on just how we go about these things!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Silverbantam, Inspector, Dubois and 18 others like this. -
Isn't it refreshing going into the last two days of the window feeling confident that any late additions we make are more than likely going to add quality to the squad rather than be last minute panic buys to make up the numbers. The way Hughes was talking last night he sounded very confident that deals are either already done or are very close to being done, but I get the feeling that if for whatever reason they don't come off, he won't just settle for any old shite at 10.59pm like we have done in the past just to make a signing, any signing.

If I still lived in Bradford it’s nailed on I wouldn’t attend, I have my own memories of the day, what I did, what I saw and as a result don’t need a service to remind me and bring it all looming back.
Nobody in our squad were born before the disaster don’t forget.

I have to say, the club deserve real credit for their approach this summer. There are some of our players who I know little about, and not every signing will work out. But we've recruited to a proper plan, we've recruited early, we've shown ambition, we've committed to relatively long term contracts amd created stability for the next couple of years.
We've organised ourselves properly for the first time in several years.
And for the first time in years, I think the optimism that most feel is grounded in reality rather than blind hope.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Paudie obviously didn't leave for the reasons we were debating, but he did leave!

You can't beat pre-season. Optimism knows no bounds, you could be about to sign anyone, promotion is on the horizon and everyone dares to dream.
Then when you're 2-0 down after 20 mins of the first game of the season, it's time to sack the Board.

Don’t post much and don’t do a lot of the bs that gets posted so please don’t start throwing rubbish at me for the following.
