Probably higher than that in reality I'd guess Kevin. I certainly didn't see/ hear any negativity anywhere, either online or in the stands once he was unveiled.

I think you'd have to go progressive, young, modern day manager, that plays it on the floor. Like the new guy at Notts County or the guy who just left Forest Green for Watford. Somebody like that, but who's already managed and had success, maybe from a level below like an Evatt or a Wild etc. However I think Sparky will be the one.

I still don't get the negativity on here towards Hendrie. He's a steady league 2 full back who will do a job. We should prepare for the possibility if we do get another RB it will probably be as back up for Hendrie :brig:

I don't think there is any real negativity really. Hes a capable back up but a team with ambition needs someone to challenge him at the very least. There is no point signing a right back to be his back up - we have Threlkeld and FCD already. Surely we want to improve...

"Steady league two full back" you've just described him as and that's exactly the reason people are suggesting we should try and upgrade if possible.

It's not being negative about Hendrie, if he's good enough he'll play whoever we sign, it's identifying possible weaker areas of the squad that can improve us as a whole.

I do think Cook will leave. Probably Songo'o too. Though I think both have roles to play in the squad this season.

Get another loan in. If he is recalled he has done well, therefore we have benefitted.

I can only see Cook leaving if we have a genuine replacement who can get you 15 goals (if fit) like Cook should be able to in this team.

Songo'o i reckon is more likely as he'll be 4th choice CB, and he isn't a playmaker or a leggy midfielder, probably 3rd/4th choice CM at best?. Threlkeld if we can convince someone to take him, Kelleher too. Loans for Scales, and probably one of FCD and Staunton, might want to keep one around in case of some injuries or suspensions.

One of the reasonable City lads on You tube was at training and said Odasebe looked “ stand out” in a game. Make if that what you will?
Its not that simple . Continuity is a massive benefit.

Yes agree we always want better players in every position but realistically we can't afford league one / championship players for every position. So for me, Hendrie is a specialist RB who won't let anyone down. So lets sign the big players for the areas where they will make a big impact and then if there's anything left over let's look at RB. Just my opinion of course

Nothing is certain in football but I thought Adams succeeding at Bradford City was as sure a thing as there is. I still don't understand how it went so badly wrong. He returned to Morecambe and kept them up and it is a mark of how highly Shrimps supporters think of him that (reading their message-board) they would rather lose any member of their team than Derek Adams.
I'm optimistic about the forthcoming season under Mark Hughes but much less so than I was a year ago. Good Luck; I will again have a vested interest in you.

Maybe that was part of Adam taking the job he wanted total control of all player recruitment.
