£200'000!
One of the biggest waste of money in the clubs history.
No I don't want him back.Fordy117 and HUDDERSSBANTAM like this. -
I'm sure he made the right noises to Edin with regards his dream but now restored as manager he will IMO want every available penny spending on the best quality players the club can afford, I believe Julian and Dave Hopkin will get on famously because Julian knows what running the non-footballing side of the club is all about, and Dave Hopkin knows football.
Do you think it's only been abandoned for a year, sorry mate can't agree at our level it very rarely works, let's have a serious look at what we have as a club development wise, Gibson, McCartan, Patrick, Robinson, Hanson, I'd say nowhere near good enough for a starting place, Robinson was as near as anyone but with a full injury free squad the kid would have been on the bench at best.JonButterfield and Johnny Yen like this. -

If these players we're looking to move out - in some cases just a few months after signing them - are on the salaries being mooted, we're going to have to take a financial hit to move them out.Stop hovering to collapse... As stated earlier T&A say he is now there for the season. I can understand why we wouldn't call him back with the state of or bench. Is it because we cant afford his wage? Maybe we cannot have the luxury of two number tens; Payne and McCarten. Which would mean we have Payne for the season.
Most players return immediately after the last game when there are on loan, don't they? -

McCarten is a shrinking violet then. If he isn’t willing to come back then we can consider his City career over.
One of the worst 250k we’ve ever spent and another master signing from messrs Rahic and Abbott, to go with Reeves and Poleon. None were worth their fees. So much for signing players with the right character.

I doubt he has told anyone he is unwilling to come back.
He is not in our plans and he still has a good length of contract left. The best thing to do is leave him there and let him get game time. If Lincoln get promoted, with a good bit of influence from him, it will up his value and make him more attractive to other teams. If we call him back he will be a bench player behind Payne, decrease in value and we will probably release him at the end of the year and have to pay compo to him. This is the best option for both parties and people are thinking way to much into it (including me).Jay and Silverbantam like this. -

Bowyer described the kind of players which are needed to be successful in the lower leagues as having 'physicality, pace, power and size'. Do you for one minute see McCartan fitting Bowyer's description? -
