    £200'000!
One of the biggest waste of money in the clubs history.
No I don't want him back.

No we don't our priority should always be all available money goes on better first team players, you think Hopkin believes in bringing non-league players in developing them to sell on, I know it's come as a shock to you @banbrotam@banbrotam but Edin has left the building, back to reality.
I'm sure he made the right noises to Edin with regards his dream but now restored as manager he will IMO want every available penny spending on the best quality players the club can afford, I believe Julian and Dave Hopkin will get on famously because Julian knows what running the non-footballing side of the club is all about, and Dave Hopkin knows football.
Do you think it's only been abandoned for a year, sorry mate can't agree at our level it very rarely works, let's have a serious look at what we have as a club development wise, Gibson, McCartan, Patrick, Robinson, Hanson, I'd say nowhere near good enough for a starting place, Robinson was as near as anyone but with a full injury free squad the kid would have been on the bench at best.

That bench today looked very weak indeed. Maltby, Isherwood, Devine, Wood, Akpan, Miller. & Wilson (GK).

Of those, only Miller is going to help you get at teams and rescue something from a game?

I think if players like Wright, Jones and Riley AREN'T gone by the end of January, it would be disingenuous to not put them on the bench.

It would present short term financial pressure, for sure. So Rupp would have to foot the bill. A risk. But the flip side is; we stay burdened with those players and so suffer the limited value they offer, perhaps have to pay more in the long run, and maybe even go down and and up with a less valuable club. Maybe any settlements could be phased in terms of their payment.

If these players we're looking to move out - in some cases just a few months after signing them - are on the salaries being mooted, we're going to have to take a financial hit to move them out.

As stated earlier T&A say he is now there for the season. I can understand why we wouldn't call him back with the state of or bench. Is it because we cant afford his wage? Maybe we cannot have the luxury of two number tens; Payne and McCarten. Which would mean we have Payne for the season.
Most players return immediately after the last game when there are on loan, don't they?

McCarten is a shrinking violet then. If he isn’t willing to come back then we can consider his City career over.

One of the worst 250k we’ve ever spent and another master signing from messrs Rahic and Abbott, to go with Reeves and Poleon. None were worth their fees. So much for signing players with the right character.

Paul Taylor was better value than all until he disappeared off the face of the Earth.

I doubt he has told anyone he is unwilling to come back.
He is not in our plans and he still has a good length of contract left. The best thing to do is leave him there and let him get game time. If Lincoln get promoted, with a good bit of influence from him, it will up his value and make him more attractive to other teams. If we call him back he will be a bench player behind Payne, decrease in value and we will probably release him at the end of the year and have to pay compo to him. This is the best option for both parties and people are thinking way to much into it (including me).

If he's playing for them next year, he'll be a bit-part player.

    A bit like here.

He's already struggling to get 70 minutes.

Maybe McCarten saw the light early doors and doesn't want to
be a part of this shambles of a team.

Yeh I've seen it, so what? Good goal but he was shite for us and league 2 is his level. He might come in handy next year though.

Do you honestly think we would get anywhere near what we paid for McCartan. He has been an expensive flop for us

Mmm. Are you just making things up?

Bowyer described the kind of players which are needed to be successful in the lower leagues as having 'physicality, pace, power and size'. Do you for one minute see McCartan fitting Bowyer's description?

Lincoln might fancy buying him, but Id suggest at a massive loss on the £200,000 we were alleged to have paid for him.
Young or old that's not the best way to do business, should we put that down to the power crazy German/Bosnian.

£50k tops. Anymore would be a bonus.
