He was a bit of a headless chicken and his deliveries often frustrated, but the timing has surprised me. Maybe its a case of one in one out. We may have a free agent striker lined up?

Good decision. Too difficult to make a decent song for him, with a name like that….

And at the very least even if a manager wants rid of the youth we aren't in the 1980's anymore, ripping them to shreds especially in public is caveman level man-management. Just look at Luke Shaw, he looked finished as a player but get someone with some man-management ability and he is one of the first names on the United team sheet and was arguably Englands best player at the EurosStop hovering to collapse... what united did is get rid. It seems we are moulding the club to his needs; letting him get his own players in (in this case rid of) and the scouting/recruitment changes. Personally I believe moulding the club to him is the correct decision but I understand the other side of the coin.Bantam75 and WilsdenBantam like this. -

Rupp isnt a good owner but he's on the level. Too many Mel Morris's in football for us to risk being owned by one.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Inspector and 1975citygent like this. -

I don't think many of us are bothered that Crankshaw has gone in terms of skill lost, but its the manner and timing in which he left that has raised a few eyebrows. Coincidence that he was hung out to dry rather brutally, by his manager on the weekend, and three days later he's been shipped out? Perhaps, but I don't think so. Also leaves us with an even weaker bench that we had on the weekend, something I didn't think was possible. With DA not favouring the youth, he's either going to have to eat his words and put one of them on the bench, or leave it a man empty. Or perhaps someone is lined up to come in Crankshaws place. Someone identified by DA, seeing as Turnbull has also been shown the door. Problem with that is, whoever it is surely must be short of match fitness. Its taken Songo'o a month to almost get up to speed, probably the same timeframe for the new guy - whoever he maybe be, because there's not many out there. The October announcement is now turning into a must hear speech.

He hasn’t managed to break his way into the staring XI which I guess is telling but even looking at his stats during preseason albeit against some fairly weak opposition he could create chances.

Eisa. Who is he? Is he actually ever going to play? What's his injury and when is he coming back? I get it if he was almost ready to come back, pushing Crankshaw further down the pecking order, but considering the fact that Eisa seems to have gone totally AWOL in a Zeli Ishmael type fashion, it seems a bit mad to let someone go when we've got so many injuries. UNLESS someone is coming in. But if that was the case, I am pretty sure Sparks would have piped up with his klaxon at the ready.
For what its worth, I also thought Crankshaw was ok. At least he was direct and had a go. Aside from the assist he had on the weekend, he also set up a goal earlier on in the season with a lovely bit of footwork and close control in the box before delivering a lovely cross (can't remember who scored it - has to be Cook doesn't it). Way more effective than Gillead and Evans.
Good luck to him. Wonder if he was close mates with any of our other players and how popular he was in the dressing room. Can't think that him leaving is going to make the dressing room any more happier.
