Your first post to me was deliberately antagonistic, and your second post moreso.

I have called some of your posts bizarre and others unbelievable at times, but I'm not sure I ever tried to make any debate personal.

Anyway, I don't really care, but surely you have to accept you were being deliberately antagonistic like you were trying to start an argument.

 

i said Doyle would do well playing as an out and out striker not advanced midfielder as for Anderson I fully stick by what I said. He was the ball winner and we had 61% possession which fell away when he went off even though Cambridge were down to ten men

 

I agree and I’m sorry if my comments offended you. There is to much of this bickering and personal attacks at posters just because they don’t agree with certain comments or are losing a debate. It is time folk started to get along and if there is a personal attack or certain posters been aimed at then the mods need to do their jobs and start dishing out bans. Amusing but unsurprising

 

Anderson has been shite since he got here to be fair.

 

I didn't think Doyle was any good last ssn but he was up top on his own usually feeding off scraps so benefit of the doubt but yesterday. I just don't see the justification for him being in the team. Hugely disappointing team performance and result yesterday and lots of work to be done by everyone.

 

Anderson was no better or worse than anybody else!

 

Genuinely thought he was, strolling back like Josh Wright and misplacing pass after pass.

 

Firstly, I didn’t accuse you of insulting me. I said there were a lot of insults being thrown around (not by you), but not a peep was said about them, even though there are many on here that are quick to jump on folk for name-calling.

Admittedly my first comment to you was terse, but ‘antagonistic’? I’m sick of the quips about Doyle being expected to play any role a forward player plays. It’s like saying we should stick Donaldson on the wing. But when I mentioned this, you than became more argumentative back. Phrases such as “What are you talking about” and “What a bizarre rant.....”.

So yes, I gave you a little dig back. But again, was it antagonistic, or an OTT dig?
I apologise if I overstepped the mark, especially with the first comment, but I’m tired of people expecting a player to do a job they are not equipped to do, and then criticising those that defend that player for this reason.

 

But it was aimed at me Mickey. Your post to me was very specific that I had overstepped the mark by posting the remark to Jon (which TBF you probably had a point).

The bit I don’t get is why my remark was seen as argumentative and out of order, BUT not one person was criticised for calling Fordy a d1ck. and all the other names thrown at him.

I accept the apologies although they aren’t necessary mate.

 

I think this is spot on. Doyle has been given the benefit of doubt because we were woeful last season and never played to his strengths. He still managed double figures though.

But, he is now 3rd choice for our front line. Donaldson and Vaughan have the shirts and they are theirs to lose. If Vaughan gets suspended or injured or simply loses form, then Doyle gets his chance up top alongside Donaldson. That’s when he has to prove his worth IMO.

He must never be played in the no10 role again as it’s like playing with 10 men

 

Doyle was awful. I don't know what him being out of position has to do with shanking it every time he tried to kick it anywhere and falling over constantly. If we're gonna play that formation I'd rather we play McCartan just behind. He was the absolute weak link for us and it wasn't to do with him being out of position, he was just crap.

 

Agree with the majority of this, especially the opening comments. I think your summary of his attributes is a tad unfair though. Personally, I have seen him make decent runs and win headers.

But let’s be honest, when was the last time we had a regular supply of crosses into the box, especially at a height where players can attack them. I agree that he shouldn’t start, but I still believe that if played up top alongside Donaldson or even Vaughan, with crosses coming into the box, he will score goals.

 

Yup Boing, I did say Fordy was being a dick but apologised for this and to him that same evening as soon as I got home - to be honest I only meant I felt the thread he started questioning GB on the first day of the season was behaving like a dick, not Fordy personally!

 

Not having a go at you for it. Whether you meant to call him it or not, is between you, Fordy and the Mods. The point I was making is that not one person picked you up on it (and let’s be fair, you weren’t alone), but as soon as I farted, people were up in arms about how much my posting style destroys this site.

 

I dont think I am usually too antagonistic so perhaps I was given a first strike?! I think Saturday night brought out a lot of frustrations, for the simple reason we were for the first time in ages expecting a little more

 

Maybe do less smelly ones next time then!
