Perhaps it was due to the fact he was playing for Morecambe at Oxford?

Most of those half a million probably aren’t interested in City, the fan base is slowly moving away from the city in my opinion.

Gotta to take in the highlights yesterday evening, as my old man had a heart attack on Saturday (he's stable).

Nice headed goal from Cook. Good corner. Should have done better from later first half corner. Cooks snatch and drag wide... It happens and always will at this level. Should have been a foul for there goal but looked far too easy, and a lot of luck, for the equaliser. Don't know whom it was whom tried to hack the lad down 40 yards out but should have done better!!!

Don't know if it was a fair point but we certainly looked to have the opportunities to win the match.

Keep safe and well my fellow City fans

FGR are an embarrassment and the referee was just as bad.

Thought we competed and defended well but didn't have the quality going forwards.

Disappointed with Adams' approach in the second half. Thought we were too negative and sat too deep. Game was there to be won but we seemed happy with the point.

Didn’t think it would take long for refs to go back to blowing for any contact at all.
The early season games were so refreshing with the new directives to let a lot of minimal contact fouls go unpunished. The players soon got up when they knew refs were just waving play on.
Either todays didn’t read the directives or just chose to ignore them.

Easy to blame the ref today but as others have touched on, too many of our own failings have cost us the three points.

The formation, 5-1-2-2, no width at all, just allowed their full backs and wingers acres of the space to come at us. If songo'o is dropping into a back five then we simply shouldn't be playing Watt aswell just in front.

Again, on the formation, having no Wide man (namely vernam) meant there was no out ball for us, it was just a hoof that generally came straight back.

Can complain all day about our finishing, God knows how many times it's been spoken about but until we get someone to put away these chances, then we won't put games to bed.

Why didn't we foul that lad who ran 60 yards to score, regardless of the fact we should have had two free kicks before he got the ball.

are we the world's daftest team with the stupid fouls on opposition full backs? Chasing teams into corners, I'm forever saying don't foul him, don't foul him, and someone, usually Sutton or Gillead, puts hands on them given them an invitation to go down. Learn lessons, the ref was giving them types of free kicks all day, don't give them/him the chance, just don't touch them It ain't rocket science.

And finally can we (fans) stop coming out after every game and saying "they weren't even that good". Until we start bearing teams that arent "that good" it doesn't exactly show us in a good light. Last 4 home games people have remarked on differing scales from total shite, shit, awful and not very good on barrow, Bristol, Hartlepool and forest green yet we have beaten none of them

Yes this was the home game against them before last. Hornsea posted about it as well.

Worst attitude towards a football match I have ever seen by a professional team, particularly their goalie who enjoyed slowly wandering around his half on numerous occasions with the ball under his arm wanting a "word" with the ref or linesman (whoever was furthest away) as he had forgotten whether it was a goal or free kick. It worked a treat though, riled us up something rotten for 90+ mins, and they then scored on the counter.

Appreciate game management, but hope I never see that again.

    Back to the game.

Cooke shouldn’t come back into the team for me.

After Saturdays win Cooke should be on the bench to be used if necessary for me.
Could be useful later in the game if needed.

    Be madness if he did.

Look, the saying is don't change a winning team. This is true unless its a top quality player that needs to come back in. We don't have any top quality players.

Keep the team that got a result against Swindon and see what they can do.

Cooke and Vernan are not that great.

Would have taken 4 points from last 2, disappointing all the same but a solid performance against top of the league.

Exactly. We let AOC go and never really replaced him. Priority in January must be to bring in a quality scapegoat.

To be fair our defence plays well for most games but concedes off one or two chances. Jamille Matt didn't get a sniff yesterday. Our problem like the majority of this season is out inability to convert gilt edge chances. And this keeps coming back to bite us. Andy Cook has to put the first half chance away.

    Tranmere -11th
    Bradford -12th
    Salford - 19th
    Mansfield-20th

That’s four so called big teams of the division in the bottom half of the league. All being shite.
I don’t look at FGR and think they are special. I think the major teams in this league are vastly under performing.

Salford have Bowyer so I am not that shocked with them. Dreadful manager but the others including us are failing massively so far.

FGR are top because of other teams failings. They are not that good.

Bradford City have been a massive disappointed so far. Sparks giving it the big one that we will be ready for the transfer market and we get Adams who can’t put winning runs together. We need to improve and quick!

Cook missed an absolute sitter just before half time.

For their goal, the lads run the length of the pitch - blame POC for diving in ridiculously and then the 2 players who their lad waltzed through. Its not the first time that schoolboy, rash defending by POC has cost us

There's a clear pattern. We create more chances than the opposition but poor finishing and select moments of poor defending mean we drop points. Same yesterday

Also BH, that lad running from his own half with the ball, right into our penalty area should have been stopped in the middle of the park one way or another. Be cynical, take one for the team - do whatever is necessary to cut out the danger. No way should that equaliser have been allowed to happen.
Very very poor from the players.

I have a lot of time for Cook at this level but he doesn't fit the lone striker role particularly well and needs a second one to take the pressure off of him. Yesterday, he had three good chances all of which came from set pieces. It's good that set pieces are now creating more opportunities than we've seen in recent times but Cook needs to do better. I don't recall one example of an opportunity created by or for him in open play. Most teams have now sussed him and that he doesn't play well in open play against strong defenders particularly when he is the sole focus of the strikers. Whether Angol is the player to be Cook's partner in the near future remains to be seen but only once he gets off the treatment couch! Lavery in fairness has looked good in his recent appearances and offers movement which puts a different pressure on the defenders. But now instead he'll be filling the treatment couch position for several weeks.

We looked light of another striker before the summer transfer window closed but failed to bring in somebody who can take the weight off Cook's and/or Angol's shoulders. We're paying the price for that mistake.

I see Cole Stockton scored another beauty yesterday, Tshimanga scored again for Chesterfield. There is that bit of quality out there, unfortunately I can't see us looking for it in January. Those missed chance could well be the thing that defines our season, if it is then our owner and CEO will need to answer some questions at the end of this season.
