Barton did the same for Bristol, Changing what wasn't working. Unfortunately Derek seems a little set in his ways and isn't proactive enough, like you mentioned earlier bringing on vernam could have swing the game back in our favour, however we kept the same shape all the second half gradually allowing more and more ball and space to forest green

I might be on my own here, but I don't see 'stubborn' as a problem even in games where certain things aren't working brilliantly.

I know people get frustrated with stubborn management, and I understand it, but I don't believe it's actually the negative that some think it is.

Some managers will chop and change and tinker all the time; some will focus on the opposition when they decide how their team will be set up; others have a style of football they want to implement and every game, win, lose or draw, is experience gained for the team trying to play that style.

Personally, I'm seeing improvements in Adams' team - we don't just bomb down the wings and endlessly miss the target, we seem to be becoming more compact and more difficult to beat (although what can you do as the manager when a guy just stumbles his way through your entire defence and scores?), we're getting more and more dangerous from set pieces with largely the same personnel - we're still playing nice football at times, and our passing play is capable of cutting through defences pretty swiftly albeit we aren't doing this for 90 minutes, just in patches...

But I do see improvements, and if that is the result of 'stubbornness' in terms of tactics, well, stubborn away Mr Adams. It's not the WRONG way, it's not the RIGHT way, it's just one of many ways to manage a squad of footballers and honestly, 4 points from Swindon away and FGR at home ain't bad, is it?

He isn't great but I do like the fact that with either him or Lavery up top with Cook it splits the defence and takes some of the pressure off Cook. The thing about Robinson if you watch him he is always looking to get the shot off first before anything else, it might not work but he will always shoot first and pass second. We need to be smarter about that and anticipate his shot and gamble on the ball coming back out.

    Yes it is bad.

The draw against FGR means we didn’t close the gap on them.

The draw against FGR and with Swindon winning means we just closed the gap on Swindon by a point.

You are just looking at it based on two teams above us.

I’m looking at it as we are in 12th and we can’t put winning runs together. Until we can put 3/4/5 wins together we will be mid table.

Plus we should be beating Swindon and FGR anyway.

Interesting that. When we played you had to have your feet behind the line. We had refs blow for that and award it to the other team. Unless the law changed I wasn’t aware. And none of the fans around me were either!

Amidst the controversy over the referee and 'gamesmanship:' from certain FGR players, one thing I did note was the impressive tactical switch by their manager at half time to get their side back into it. I was particularly impressed with Huddersfield lad the ex Guiseley player Jake Young. The goal aside, he was a very positive attacking midfield player.

One worth keeping tabs on perhaps especially as he is a local lad?

hotheaded. Picks up too many bookings for dissent. Play with passion but he oversteps the mark too often. Remember though he is still relatively young. Need Canavan to talk him through and calm him down at times. Has the makings of a good CH. Agree he’s made errors and needs to start cutting them out now if he is to develop. Still time for him to play higher up the leagues with City or otherwise.

Gotta to take in the highlights yesterday evening, as my old man had a heart attack on Saturday (he's stable).

Nice headed goal from Cook. Good corner. Should have done better from later first half corner. Cooks snatch and drag wide... It happens and always will at this level. Should have been a foul for there goal but looked far too easy, and a lot of luck, for the equaliser. Don't know whom it was whom tried to hack the lad down 40 yards out but should have done better!!!

Don't know if it was a fair point but we certainly looked to have the opportunities to win the match.

Keep safe and well my fellow City fans

Totally agree Faithful. 2-3 inspired signings in January could totally energize our season. We currently have somewhere between 2/3s to 3/4s of a going up automatic side. So need more.

FGR were better at the dark arts than we were. That's why they got the draw. Managed to waste tons of minutes when they didn't have possession, rotationally fouled our players so that more of theirs didn't go in the book or get sent off. It's what they have always done really well. They may be vegan but they're bloody conniving too. It does though seem to me ironic that a club that strives to have such high values in terms of being green and taking big moral stances has a team that's so cynical and pragmatic.

I don't trust anyone who doesn't eat meat. That said, the club may be "green" but I'm sure as hell that most of the players will be fond of a sausage and egg McMuffin. Jamille Matt didn't get that big by eating plant based substitutes.

Matt played like a plant. I was expecting a much bigger threat from him. He seemed to concentrate too much on the dark arts and getting in the refs face most of the game

Just watched the “inside match day video” the club release, and how the foul on Gilliead wasn’t given is unbelievable. The guy plays Gilliead and not the ball then he plays advantage to them. The video is taken from the main stand side and it’s as clear as day. Poor, poor refereeing.
