I agree with you about the referee but when it comes to the linesmen/women/assistant referees they are often given intructions by the referee before the game on when to flag and what to flag for.

That’s the frustrating bit though isn’t it?
They want to be called “assistant referees” but can only “assist” in certain situations when the main ref allows them to .

It's a package. Had we sneaked all three points it wouldn't have changed my view of the referee's performance. To quote a well worn Fordy word the ref was s......

He did take a lot of stick in the first half without any help from the ref. However I think he should still have put that chance away, Andy Cook probably feels the same.

The problems we had two weeks ago haven’t disappeared, it’s still a squad light on quality, the last two results shouldn’t be allowed to paper over the cracks and allow Rupp off the hook.

The ref was shite but when a team as lost or drawn but blaming it on the ref then they haven’t been good enough.

We missed chances and we lack quality.

I never blamed the ref Fordy. The rest of your comments I agree with.

Isn't he a bit like Angol with injury problems through out his career.

Yes I heard Suttons post match interview and he said he was knackered but 4 minutes + injury, I didn't know why Adams didn't bring Vernam on around 70 minutes fresh legs and on his day is very difficult to stop.
I have my worries about Adams we're at home they scored after 54 minutes the game was there for wining and he left it until the 86 minute to try and change it, I have faith in him but can't see why a double sub around 70 minutes was not used, if we had got beat at least we would have been trying to win the game.

watching over the game again, the two key incidents, were the runs by their player who scored and Suttons
The bounce of the ball went for both guys, but we should have brought their lad down , like they did with Sutton, ref had already made that easier, by not sending off their player. Other than the goal, they never looked like scoring.
Cook should have scored the tap in though and it would have been a completely different game.

I feel the same as you about making changes and I certainly have faith in Adams. With Sutton cramping up again this week Adams maybe thought leaving him on, even with so little time left, risked the cramp progressing to a calf or hamstring muscle injury.
On Vernan it may have meant us changing our shape as he isn't the best defensively. Had he done that and we had gone on to lose the game we would have been moaning about him making that change.
I suppose that's the problem any manager has and what makes it such a pressurised job. I think I'll stick to making pop and being an armchair coach/manager.

The officials are generally poor at this level. I just don't think we should be predominantly blaming him for letting the win slip. We need to look to our own deficiencies first. What I would say is that FGR weren't all that, given they're top of the league. We 100% need to find the cash needed for 2-3 quality players in January, because it'd make a huge difference to our promotion chances, crap refs or no crap refs

We definitely need a right back and more so than ever now we're playing a wing back system.

If we didn't need him in midfield, Sutton would be ideal. Agree though, if we're gonna stick with 352 then a right back is a must. Tbf to Foulds hes come in and looked ok.

I'm sure some would have seen it that way, I wasn't impressed with Forest Green although they aren't top of the table for nothing.
Having said that Edwards saw how they were struggling against us and made 2 half time subs which made them far more of a threat but once again the result was down to our poor finishing.

    Tranmere -11th
    Bradford -12th
    Salford - 19th
    Mansfield-20th

That’s four so called big teams of the division in the bottom half of the league. All being shite.
I don’t look at FGR and think they are special. I think the major teams in this league are vastly under performing.

Salford have Bowyer so I am not that shocked with them. Dreadful manager but the others including us are failing massively so far.

FGR are top because of other teams failings. They are not that good.

Bradford City have been a massive disappointed so far. Sparks giving it the big one that we will be ready for the transfer market and we get Adams who can’t put winning runs together. We need to improve and quick!
