My god - people are now happy just to exist!
I wrote a fairly lengthy response (by my standards), but I’ll just leave it here and keep shaking my head in disbelief.

There are people who would, for sure. Myself and my partner live far enough from Bradford that getting there is inconvenient, and a virtual season ticket would be the next best thing if we can't get to the ground until the very end of the season. It's something I've wanted for a while as I could only get to maybe one home game every six weeks.

With my partners health being suspect at the best of times, I won't return to the ground until the risk is negligible or a treatment is found. I'm not risking her health or that of my family and friends for a game of footie. This is why I didn't go for the Claret & Amber ST's.

As much as I dislike it, we'll have to hope our owner is benevolent; I'd like to think ours is, or we are managed well; hard to say that we are when we get done over Doyle & Vaughan style, or we able to sell, a hard ask when even clubs in the PL are starved for cash. Most clubs in the Championship and below are facing hard times.

    I hope we pull through.

    Unfortunately, it's not even close!

The entirety of all sports, including football is included in the much bigger 'Arts, Entertainment & Recreation' sector. And the Financial Services sector on its own generates almost 10 times as much through PAYE compared to what is taken from the entire Arts & Recreation sector! Economically speaking, football is a tiddler in the great scheme of things despite what we might all believe :)

On a more positive note, the football sector contributes about 5 times what the fishing industry does to our economy!

Slightly off topic but this is the best of a bad situation I have seen.

The Denver Broncos put the whole town of South Park behind the posts at their stadium last night.

You've missed the point entirely. All the football sector is doing at the moment is to enable the Govt to ignore their requests for help. Until the three bodies speak with one voice and agree to do things collectively in support of the footballing pyramid, the Govt will continue to ignore the special pleading.

Politicians are more than adept at kicking the football into the long grass and leaving it there!

PL are a refusing to give the EFL a bail out after working out that Championship owners are worth 32 billion (in total) and then other owners of league 1 & 2 are worth huge amount of money also.

Where have you read that? That could have enormous implications on other sectors of the economy if the Govt agrees to it.

On a personal note, I hope my 1hr 30min drive to VP isn't regarded as 'local'. It will get me off the hook and save me from having to make an important decision. :)

The open letter to fans from the EFL etc which you've just posted makes no reference to what you explained on here yesterday . It's 'tomorrow' now. Has the Govt now been informed of the clubs' intentions about admitting only 'local' fans to the grounds or not? I must have missed it.

Its not about being inside the stadium but all the travelling and mingling in cafes and fast food places or pubs before and after the game.
You would have 3000 people congregating into the manningham area. Just doesnt seem the right thing to do in the current climate.

Tell me how fans back at VP will help the club financially enough to cover stewarding costs for example ?
No food kiosks will be open as far as i can recall. So where is the revenue coming from that they dont already receive.
I have never said that people in the ground is unsafe if they are socially distanced etc.
And would you want to wait ages to be allowed to leave the ground? Be like away fans in the 80's.
And for entry. Say your admittance time slot is 2pm. Sit in your seat and dont move, unless you need the loo, and get let out at say 5.15pm
    Nope not doing that.

That's not the total picture in Germany.

Some Bundesliga games did have some fans watching but the attendance levels were around 15% of capacity. There was one case of 11,000 Dortmund fans watching a game in a 80,000+ capacity stadium. But more importantly, it all depended on local infection rates. For the game to go ahead even with some fans, the local rate had to be below 35 per 100,000 pop. In Bradford at the moment, it's over 400 per 100,000 pop or more than 12 times that level. Even in the least affected areas in the UK, it's still 3 times that level.

You need to get your head around understanding that football won't have fans in the stadia for the foreseeable future for whatever reason.

There are very strict rules and protocols in place regarding numbers (EFL rules), social distancing (Govt. rules) and other stuff like form filling and temperature checks(individual clubs). I have been to both games at Bolton and Mansfield so far with Barrow tomorrow.
For the first Bolton game we had to complete a form regarding our general health and contacts and had temperatures taken at entry. The meal was individual sandwich boxes and a cup of tea. This week the form was moved on-line but temperature taken at entry. The Bolton Boardroom is huge so no problem with capacity but 4 to a table instead of 8/10.
Mansfield was another on-line form and temperatures taken at the site boundary. 6 of us present eating in a 130 capacity room with 4 to a table. Mansfield in their own room.
At BCFC we have the same constraints. Our Boardroom is too small so we eat in the 1911 and sit immediately outside with visiting Directors in a box and sitting outside away from us.
Think this will be much the same everywhere.
All our other hospitality facilities are closed.
