    At this morning's Downing Street briefing Jonathan Van-Tam referred to the 3 Cs plus a D and a V, as conditions that favour the spread of the virus:
    C - Closed spaces, effectively indoors, often with poor ventilation;
    C - Crowded spaces;
    C - Close contact between those there;
    D - Duration of contact; and
    V - Volume at which people speak, shout or sing.

    I'd say the London Palladium ticks all those boxes. Valley Parade, with a few thousand in, would probably only tick 2 of those boxes.

    I signed the petition but when I last looked there were less than 200,000 signatures I can't see that persuading the government to allow fans in, although the recent London Palladium situation makes fans attending in an open stadium a nonsense.

    Agree Broncs. I watched Dowden being interviewed by Dan Johnson on Breakfast a few days ago, Johnson asked about the Palladium, I thought here we go, Johnson is a football man.
    No chance, typical politician, changed the subject, wriggled a bit and amazingly Johnson was so busy fawning over him he let him off. Appalling journalism.

    I agree. What were you really expecting Dowden to say?

    Who was one of the most influential 'luvvies' promoting a major Govt financial package to protect the arts' sector?
    Who is also a Conservative peer and well connected within the Conservative party?
    Who owns the Palladium ..and a handful of other high profile venues?

    Answer to all three - Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

    He has done a great job getting £1.6bill into the sector helping a load of very small venues and jobbing actors and musicians. Of course, he's also managed to protect his own venues from the same fund.

    You're being a little unfair. The Govt gave, sorry loaned, the northern rugby league clubs £15m to tide them over for the next 6 months.

    The fact that most of the clubs are in red wall constituencies is simply a coincidence.
