    That would stop people from Menston and Drighlington coming, yet allow people from Tosside and Hubberholme to attend! :unsure:

    Where have you read that? That could have enormous implications on other sectors of the economy if the Govt agrees to it.

    On a personal note, I hope my 1hr 30min drive to VP isn't regarded as 'local'. It will get me off the hook and save me from having to make an important decision. :)

    Only a thought mate, hence my ?, I cant see it being an option just as banning 70+ fans wont be an option.

    It's in the Times.

    I think the other thing is to say that fans can cycle into the ground if needs be. The government loving going 'green' at the minute. This is to take away people meeting in pubs and in car groups.

    I said they will find away for no over 70's and you all laughed!!

    You laugh!! We will see!

    I went to the gym last night and it was packed. No one over 45 say and I was thinking to myself it's no shock that gyms are still allowed 24/7 open because not many over 70's go.

    If football is serious about getting fans back with this foolish government then it needs to upset a few people and that looks like it's starting to happen with talk of local fans only and fans cycling into grounds.

    So did Cineworld mate by the looks of it hence closing all the all cinema's until next year.

    The knobhead just needs to allow fans back to the grounds now.

    There is a large degree of logic to such an approach and if it's a way of getting limited numbers into grounds, it is, for me, an acceptable first step in getting fans back.

    For me, with this virus, there are a number of obstacles to overcome:

    1) Making grounds 'COVID safe'. I think a lot of work has been done, to tick most of the boxes on this one.

    2) Fans travelling to and from grounds. We've seen from the likes of the Cheltenham races and the Liverpool v Atlético Madrid match, that large numbers of people travelling between different areas has the potential to spread the virus significantly. A local fans only approach would significantly mitigate this risk.

    3) Fans failing to follow the rules in pubs around the grounds. This needs to be dealt with and there are a few options that could significantly mitigate this risk.

    So I have tickets for the 02 in December, 7,000 in a 20,000 INDOOR arena, but can't go to footie in a 60,000 OUTDOOR venue

    When you think about it, it does make perfect sense.

    I know Liverpool already do local sales only. @SimonW@SimonW might know if Man Utd do? but we have to find a way to get fans back and it will mean that lots will have to miss out. It's unfortunate but just having this blanket all fans must attend won't work.
