Morning all
Better to be safe than sorry.... no point having a stadium that holds 25,000, 50,000 or 100,000 if you have no one to fill it because everyone's dead!!
We've been in lockdown in Victoria for two months with a 8.00pm curfew and only allowed out for 1 hours exercise plus food shopping. Thank goodness we've gone from 750 a day new cases to 28 as of today.
Very frustrating and painful but put into prospective no sport or anything else comes before people's lives.

https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/514915-is-us-covid-19-death-count-inflated
‘On August 26, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a report showing that in 94 percent of the roughly 180,000 deaths that have been attributed to COVID-19, “on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.”
As the CDC report notes, “For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”
In other words, 94 percent of Americans who have died from coronavirus from the week ending February 1, 2020 to the week ending August 22, 2020 had, on average, almost three comorbidities that played a role in their death.’Stop hovering to collapse... Even some Saturday games, if the weather is utterly foul, then I guess a lot may think twice about venturing out. A lot of us have lengthy journeys and if City are ‘plodding on’ then the value of going may not be wonderful, given all the attendant hassle.
Nothing to stop City from a relaunch of Season Tickets with the i-follow package. They would seem to have the capacity in terms of spare seats to do so.Bantam@{Lancs}, Bantamsteve, Tony Wilkinson and 1 other person like this. -

I mean fair play to the clubs that do this but you've really got to laugh at what a farce this has become.

Running my own business , i am a capitalist through and through and believe that hard work does bring its rewards.
Yes the premier league is the reason that the tv money is staggering.
But what i do find immoral , is jumped up footballers earning more in a week, than most people earn in 5 years.
I know its a short career .but do they really need to earn more in 1 year , than the rest of us see in a lifetime
And before the argument comes in about them paying tax, they can afford the best accountants, to show them how to pay as little as possible.
Maximum £20,000 a week for me in the premiership, 2 weeks is still more than my annual salary.
Also more control over bloody agents , who have there fingers , well and truly in the pie.
Reduce club debt , reduce ticket prices , give away free pies or re-paint your stadium every year,
That's where the money should be going.JonButterfield, Fordy117, Tony Wilkinson and 1 other person like this. -

There's a Petition to sign for a return to football grounds here. As of writing is at 26,110. Which is already past the government response stage. At 100,000 it will be debated in parliament.

And I know some on here will bleat on about how it won't make a difference, I'd rather try and get us all into the ground instead of being sat on my hands!bantamdave41, Bronco, Fordy117 and 1 other person like this. -
Who was one of the most influential 'luvvies' promoting a major Govt financial package to protect the arts' sector?
Who is also a Conservative peer and well connected within the Conservative party?
Who owns the Palladium ..and a handful of other high profile venues?
Answer to all three - Andrew Lloyd-Webber.
He has done a great job getting £1.6bill into the sector helping a load of very small venues and jobbing actors and musicians. Of course, he's also managed to protect his own venues from the same fund.Idlebantam, How, Fordy117 and 1 other person like this. -

It seems very unfair that clubs in low risk areas can have 4000 fans back in, thus giving them a true home advantage whereas we play home games in empty stadium and losing such advantage.
