The rate in Bradford (and all of W Yorks) is currently below 187 per 100k people. 1 month ago London was put into Tier2 with an infection rate of 187.
In Summer, Bradford was put into a local lockdown with a rate of just 49 per 100k.
The double standards the government is treating the North with is contemptful

 

As long as London are in tier 3,there is no chance of the North being allowed out of it.

 

Thatcher systematically and deliberately destroyed British manufacturing,and left us dependent on foreign countries for nearly everything.

 

How far South are Liverpool and York nowadays?

That's right, so there's nothing stopping Northern areas being in tier 2 even when London is in tier 3.

This perpetuation of a North/South divide on this is ridiculous. The fact that London has much greater medical capacity- in a similar way to 90% of capital cities around the world - seems to be willfully ignored.

Areas in the North can go into tier 2, areas in the south can go into tier 3. Try to let go of the bitterness.

Wrong on both counts. Very much a Tory voter and very very much pro brexit, though didn't convert fully until I grew up (a bit) and realised that a vote for Labour meant a vote for state control and a vote for Tony B.Liar. I'm what you would call a social conservative, one that doesn't like the kind of dictatorship that Thatcher ruled by which at times bordered on fascism. It is still possible to hate a dead person isn't it ?

Without going into a political debate, I will say that whilst I like Keir Starmer, his appointment is pretty much the same as us appointing a complete rookie as manager and we have no idea at all if he could do anything better. Brilliant legal mind, very inexperienced politician.

The Tories may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we haven't had to deal with a pandemic since 1914 and Spanish Flu, and I wake up every morning thanking someone or something that we aren't living through this with Comrades Corbyn and his loony tune mates in charge. If we were the whole country would have been on lockdown since 1st March and the economy would take 100 years to recover.

Unless you've missed it, Boris hasn't had chance to appease the red wall because of the pandemic. If he doesn't come good when we finally lose it, he's out on his ear, and I guess he is the first to realise you can't dupe the northern nation and get away with it, though I think when it comes down to it he will be clever enough to appease the areas that went blue and will ignore those that stayed red and voted in idiot MP's like the one in Bfd West.

 

I agree with a lot of your views and I've found through through this forum that you I have a lot in common. It's just the hate thing. Don't get me wrong, I can fallout with anyone and I've come to blows with one or two over the years. Hate is a wasted emotion and can eat you up. I think that's what my late Mum managed to instill in me.
My wife left me for her boss and I was close beating the s**t out of him but realised that rather than hating him the way I thought I did I just moved on.
