Because our manager has no idea how to coach attacking football. I genuinely believe he hasn't a clue.

Did you see Plymouth battered Carlisle today, a 400 mile trip. Remind me how we struggled to a 0-0 draw up there.Manningham bantam, bantamdave41, Bantam-in-Greece and 7 others like this. -
Enough is enough.
That’s it for me, Bowyer did nothing to arrest the slide out of league One and has underperformed this season with the resources at his disposal having been backed to the hilt.
Time to go Bowyer, and take your awful brand of football with you.The Granby Mullet, Craven Koppite, Manningham bantam and 7 others like this. -
I don't think today's shambles had much to do with formations or tactics, as far as I saw we had players who could not play a simple ball to a team mate, time after time after time.
We had players not picking up loose balls, players letting opponents run at them without a challenge, and players continually playing sideways and backwards, the entire midfield was woeful and I don't know what beef Reeves had when subbed, he was terrible.
A shocking performance that made Crawley look top of the league material.
Thanks lads, a 06.55 start today and not due back until 22.30 all being well, over £200 spent, pissed off? Bloody right I am.

I also wonder if Bowyer really wants to change his formula. You could argue that we were caught short at the back and for a defence which has been good, we were opened up. This is valid when you look at Crawley’s recent run of results.
What I will comment on, is the nature of midfield play. It seems to have a number of deficits. We are unable to play creative forward movement. The long ball option, or that ‘panacea’ of all ills the ‘winger’ is not going to work well with Doyle and Vaughan. It also strikes me that we are not ‘strong enough’ in midfield and need more rounded or complete midfielders. We have a large number of midfielders. I sometimes think we have gone for quantity rather than quality, and some of the responsibility must lay with Bowyer. He offered contracts to Divine and Anderson, plus brought in Palmer and Taylor. With Reeves, Akpan, Cooke Gibson and Devitt also playing in those central positions you must query this large number of midfielders. Four/five yes but surely not nine.
I wonder if Bowyer really wants Doyle, or wether he altered his usual game plan to try and accommodate him? A 5-3-2 (ish) formation would possibly have ground out a draw today.
Surely the hallmark of a good manager is a mix of knowing your preferred style of play, but also to have a coherent ’plan B’, so you can adapt to changing situations.

It’s a strange thing how certain players only perform at certain clubs. Not here to rub your noses in it, but this has really blown up in your faces. Granted, only one game and things may change.

What an absolute shocker of a performance.
Weak in the tackle. No innovation. No creativity. No urgency. No pace. No strength. NO MOVEMENT!!!! We were second best all game, the final score flattered us and we thoroughly got what we deserved.
Have to be fair to Crawley, they beat us in every position and part of the pitch.
Granted, we were marginally better the second half but not by much. The first half was as bad a performance I can remember for a long time. Palmer and Henley were very poor. The normal dependable AOC and BRE were given the run around by Palmer for them upfront.
McCartan was the only one who made a difference and tried to get his foot on the ball and look forward. Doyle and Vaughan were given absolutely nothing to work with Bowyer urgently needs to address this. I can’t recall making the keeper work once.
Not a good day in the office at all. Dramatic improvement needed not just in the next home game, but more so at Colchester.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Two Legs, WIBSEY GAWBER, bantam2708 and 4 others like this. -
Every time I've seen City this season they have been utter garbage, in the last 2 wins l honestly don't think we were any better than the opposition, Mansfield & Morecambe!
I am not used to these players, but l looked at Richards-Everton in the first comical moments v Morecambe and he reminded me of Matt Clarke.....but in clogs. Then the penny drops, he's our CB, one that Accrington Stanley didn't really want. Then as it became apparent that only Reeves could control the ball as well as Morecambe l realised just how many shit players we have. I just don't buy the idea that we have a good squad, l think it's a shit one.CRASS, Manningham bantam, WIBSEY GAWBER and 4 others like this. -
- Stop blaming Bowyer for the relegation and realise that we're in a far better position than the likes of you predicted in May last year. Remember, the abuse the likes of myself and Park got when we pointed out that we could turn those failing players around and mount a promotion challenge only to be told we were heading for the conference
- Understand that frustrating though it is, not having players like Prichard, Cooke and even Ismail (to say nothing about Donaldson) have a big impact on the creativity element of our team. Even Mellor is a miss compared to that wimp of an excuse Henley
- Going back to the good old fashioned 'Parky' formula, i.e. giving a manager time. At this time in 2012 - the noise about how bad Parky was for the club and how he should be gotten rid of, was so loud you could hear it for it miles. Is Bowyer really doing worse than Parky did in the same period?
- Realising that sacking Bowyer will do nothing more than make you feel better. Sacking managers every 20 games (as it would be the equivalent for the last three) doesn't work. Go look at Wycombe and the very up and down ride they had in this league for about six seasons, before Ainsworth got it right
I'll judge Bowyer at the end of the season and not before. He's earned that right. It's a minor miracle, given the toxic nature of the club and been forced to have an unsettled side, that we're firmly in the race
