He needs to take a good look at himself. I'm yet to see him take responsibility for a poor performance.

I actually agree with you that sacking Bowyer at this stage of the season is unlikely to do any good. We can all vividly remember the Grayson tenure, when the results seemed to deteriorate under his ‘past Stuart’ management.

I also wonder if Bowyer really wants to change his formula. You could argue that we were caught short at the back and for a defence which has been good, we were opened up. This is valid when you look at Crawley’s recent run of results.

What I will comment on, is the nature of midfield play. It seems to have a number of deficits. We are unable to play creative forward movement. The long ball option, or that ‘panacea’ of all ills the ‘winger’ is not going to work well with Doyle and Vaughan. It also strikes me that we are not ‘strong enough’ in midfield and need more rounded or complete midfielders. We have a large number of midfielders. I sometimes think we have gone for quantity rather than quality, and some of the responsibility must lay with Bowyer. He offered contracts to Divine and Anderson, plus brought in Palmer and Taylor. With Reeves, Akpan, Cooke Gibson and Devitt also playing in those central positions you must query this large number of midfielders. Four/five yes but surely not nine.

I wonder if Bowyer really wants Doyle, or wether he altered his usual game plan to try and accommodate him? A 5-3-2 (ish) formation would possibly have ground out a draw today.

Surely the hallmark of a good manager is a mix of knowing your preferred style of play, but also to have a coherent ’plan B’, so you can adapt to changing situations.

Take this post as one that is trying to be constructive, yet also having the honesty to be critical when it is appropriate.

Rupp told us we’ll be going for automatic promotion after the Wembley defeat only for us to slash the wage budget. Rupp told us he’s financially committed to Bradford City even though he’s not put a penny into the club. Not only are his words not to be taken seriously but it also contradicted what were told from Julian Rhodes which suggested pretty much the exact opposite. If you can’t see how a £3M windfall, 14000 season tickets, an official confirmation of our top 3 budget revealing exact figures etc, getting rid of last years no hopers , the signings of Vaughan, Donaldson etc can increase expectations from one of our lowest points last season then I don’t know what to say to you.

A good read is the WOAP article.

It starts, ‘Well, that was as bad a defeat as you can get. City were out fought and out classed from start to finish against the team who has won twice in the last 16.

The score-line completely flattered the Bantams and no one could’ve complained if we were 4-0 down at half time. It was another one of the countless performances this season where you would struggle to say which team is the promotion contender and which is lying in mid table or lower’.

I hope they go up. All Bielsas teams are a joy to watch, they are why, when we were kids, we fell in love with football. They are brave, no matter where on the pitch and hoofing is just not there. They give their fans imagination & hope & that's why they sell out.

Local radio to maximise its audience has worked hard to break down the old tribal rivalries. No City supporter in my day could have wished Leeds success!!

But l am the only one in my family not to support Leeds!

But what we could do with a pied piper manager to tap into our potential like Kamara did. It's, despite league position, totally flat, we might as well play in grey.

Its truly dire isn't it. Where most games are bloody awful to watch at least they could go either way, worryingly today we were out played. By a team in 16th with 2 wins in 13 games. But then we have the ability to make any team look half decent these days. Scunthorpe next week, god i can hardly wait...

I think that is what is making me queasy. I am trying to remember games I have actually enjoyed. I haven’t really started looking at our league position until a couple of weeks ago. When we have won it has been tedious to watch rather than exhilarating. I do know we can’t expect quality football in this league, but I thought we had good players so was expecting more.

Three things getting reet on my tits tonight.

BRE is a defensive liability. Anthony and Paudie should be ahead of him.

Taylor contributes nothing to this team.

Palmer and Reeves are too nice to play alongside each other. We need a hard nut alongside them. Time to take action, Bowyer, if Akpan is our best hope of one.

    Goodnight.

It's all good natured banter with the son in law and his mates, a few get a bit pissed off at times, it's like anything else team start to stutter as the wining line gets nearer where as in the middle of the season they would have blown the opposition away.

All season I've thought AOC and BRE were our best two centre backs even through BRE is prone to a rush of blood at times, today if he had made contact with the lung he could have walked as well as given a penalty away, as it turned out it just cost us Crawley's second goal :(.
Now I'm with you we need to see what the pairing of AOC & Paudie can do.

Just another little addition @banbrotam@banbrotam , in support of sticking with Bowyer.

We sacked Colin Todd on 11th February 2007. Below is the table for that date. City were 16th!
City ultimately finished 22nd and were relegated!
