Andy Cook (with Poll)

He'll stay fit, his record throughout his career for games missed has been minimal. Not bad for a lad who some think doesn't look after himself.

 

I was watching the Sky highlights and they focused in on him running away after scoring. Got to say, he looked like he had something up his shirt and it wasn’t a six pack. That said, his goals render his weight moot.

 

It was his lunch box

 

The front three playing as they did against Wycombe and Stanley , using pace out wide , is far more effective as you say Dave . Where we did lack on a couple of occasions is Cookie not anticipating or quick enough to react to the short pass. I said it at the time , he can be on a different wavelength. It was evident in the first half for sure. If he can bring that to his game , (mind you he wouldnt be in L2 ), there is room for improvement in the best of us.

 

Benefit of the doubt Dave…he dummied it.

The laugh and smile on his face when the team were celebrating said it all really…….He missed it and it went through his pins. Who cares ….

He's crap, over weight over paid and could not hit a cow's a--e with a banjo.

 

TBF, hell of a stat that. I have some criticisms of Cook at times, but as a few rightly allude to, it’s a bit egg on face when you see these stats.

Felt there is a mutual respect and enjoyment of playing alongside each other between Cook and Wright, echoed in Wrights post-match interview.

Wonder if we might see Wright back next season? Definitely sounds in a happier place than his Plymouth experience

 

Its a shame that Wright and Villa did not accept our offer last season,
He seems to work well of Cook.

 

Let's not forget that he ran the full length of the pitch, box to box, to close the keeper down to cause the throw in!! Not bad for a fat ba****d really!! He definitely 'dummied' it for Wright, either that he suddenly developed the worst bow legs ever!! Yet some people question him......ffs we'd be relegated without his goals.

 

Not really sure what went on with Cook & some fans in the kop last night, as I was already almost on Manningham Lane by the time the full time whistle sounded along with the boo's, but I am absolutely fed up of the criticism Cookie gets from our fans. Talk about a scapegoat

The poor bastard runs himself into the ground for us in every game, and keeps chipping in with goals. Does anyone else ever do that?? Smith has started the last 2 games, my god if there was ever a player to berate it would be him, absolutely useless, limping around looking totally lethargic and disinterested

Anyone giving Cook a hard time need to give their heads a bloody good wobble!

 

I forgot Smith was still on. Thought he got subbed at half time. Only realised when another lazy player popped up with some half arsed run into the box and fell over. No wonder Cook is frustrated. Second half he won a header he had no right to win against their centre back, knocked down for Smith or Richards can’t remember who, only for it to be then shanked over the bar. The guy can only work with what he’s got. He needs a rest, but where will that leave us.

 

I saw what happened, the players came over to applaud the clapping seals, of the few fans left there were a fair few angry fans that made their feelings known about how poor it is right now and Cook bit at the criticism. Personally I thought Cook was making a point in the direction of Alexander. No other player reacted like Cook did.

 

I really feel for him

He had his best ever league season under Hughes and despite many options he decided to put pen to paper and commit himself to this club. Fast forward a couple of months, MH gets the bullet due to Sparks panicking about losing the fans after the Tranmere debacle

Cook should be hating Sparks right now. I know I am

 

Can't fault Cooks commitment, another player hung out to dry by not playing to his strengths. Alexander seems good at that right now.

 

But but but he doesn’t…….

….no can’t think of anything.

He scores most of our goals.
