Cook can sometimes frustrate for sure and miss sitters, but for me he will always get a free pass because he is exactly what any L2 side requires, if he didn't have the faults many on here highlight then he would certainly not have spent his career in lower leagues.

With his competition out for the rest of the season i really hope he doesnt revert to his Andy “need 12 chances to put 1 away” Cook

You really think he’s a one in twelve chance player? He has spells where he misses chances and spells where he takes them all.
Even in a struggling team creating little to nothing the first half of the season he’s on for 20 goals plus.
I don’t get the bad press he gets from his own fans - he’s the best striker we’ve had in donkeys years and up there with Wells and Wyke for goal returns since the days of Peter Thorne and prior to that Windass

I don’t think Cook is completely exempt from been dropped. On one hand the Wycombe game showed us we can be creative without him, however doing the most important part of scoring was a challenge.

I don’t think Andy Cook purposefully chooses to be off form. The chance to still be in the running should be enough of an incentive for him and the rest of the squad to be as on top of their game as possible.

Furthermore with a returning Walker in 2-3 weeks there’s an added competition……..provided we are still in the running within the next two weeks!

Walker is returning to full training in 2 weeks, not to playing.

With him out for a period and Pattison crocked I cannot believe we didn't sign a CM. Add to that Manny leaving too.

We literally have Gilli, Smallwood and McDonald.

Go back and read a few of his posts you'll soon realise, rarely had a good word for Cook or the club, his favourite comment "were getting creamed".
    I think he's another WUM.

Walker picked up his injury right at the end of the transfer window - 30th January and it proved to be more serious than first thought. Not much chance to bring anyone in at that point and possibly thought Walker wouldn't be out for too long.

He broke it at Doncaster before Christmas and said so at the Stockport game. His comeback might have been delayed but the club knew before the transfer window opened that he had a significant injury

I thought it wasn't known to be a break until much later, even though it happened before Christmas.

My lad did a bit of camera work and was chatting to him and obviously asked him because of the boot he had on, and said then that the bone was cracked.
Not sure why it was kept a bit hush hush - it was only at the end of January when they (press) said he had a setback that they mentioned the broken bone.

It was actually a really bad tackle as well at the time

Wasn’t it only described as serious, ie a crack in the bone after a second scan late in the window?

It was in the press yes, but he himself said (to my son) the bone was cracked on 29th December (or whatever date it was). He had one of the big support boots on at the time.

I thought Sparks let it slip during the forum on Radio Leeds. Either way, we’ve managed to find a way to win without him. How that dynamic will change when he’s back is anyones guess.

The Pattison one is the stranger situation for me, it just seems to be dragging on. He started the season so brightly as well. But not sure where he fits in should he find himself fit again
