Alongside either McDonald or Smallwood in the engine room I'd have thought.

It's Walker that would concern me as we don't currently play with a "10" and the two sitting midfielders seem to be deeper now than when walker played in central midfield.

Pattison had an operation on his hamstring so was always unlikely to play again this season. In mid January we thought Walker was going to be back training a week later

When Walker played we had 3 in the middle so the 2 wide central players had more reponsibilty to get further forward as number 8s whereas now we only have 2 central players so they play a bit deeper as number 6s

    Agreed, that was my point.

If we go back to a 3 to accommodate Walker, assuming we keep the wingback system it means we go back to 2 up top and potentially lose some width.

It would be my preferred set up though, a holding midfielder behind Walker and Pattison should provide more goals from that area but it would require a consistent level of creativity from the wing backs and perhaps that's where we might struggle.

We have plenty of width with Cookie monster. Could do with losing a few kilo's. :innocent:

Another couple of assists (hard to tell for the second one but still made the chance even if he didn't get a touch) for Cook.

I'm glad he brings nothing else to the team though.

PS, don't mention that's now 14 in 35 league appearances for this season.

Those that want him replaced are clearly clinically insane!

I'm a Cook fan and would definitely credit him with an assist for the second goal. He also took his goal superbly. But there were still several occasions yesterday when he looked laboured and slow trying to get the ball out from under his feet. Not quite at his best at the moment but I actually thought he looked fitter yesterday.

Imagine a league two striker not being the complete article. I'm struggling to believe it if I'm honest.

The fitter part seems true though, I'm just wondering if it was down to the weight loss in the last 7 days or not.

If he'd been part of a successful team I've no doubt he'd absolutely be up there with Wells, Hanson and maybe even Blake and Mills in terms of Bradford City legends.

Cook will reach the 20 goals mark for the season.
Obviously not up to last years , but more than good enough.
He will be one of our all time leading scorers, if he stays fit.

That question could be asked of all us Bradford City fans, after the Wycome game some were suggesting dropping Cook as playing him would alter our game plan and encourage players to hit it long, I saw little of it yesterday we attacked down both flanks and showed we could score without playing it to Cooks head, the first two being well worked between Cook and Wright even though as you say Cook may not have got a touch to Wrights second, the third was a long clearance from Walker but should have been cleared by the Accrington defenders even then Cook did well drawing the keeper out and placing it to his left all quality finishes.
