You say that, but we did get out of the relegation zone very, very briefly, then sunk right back into it ;)

Once we have a four or five point cushion, I'll stop worrying so much.

I’m with Fordy here - it seems like people are missing our point. Forget the table and form guide - viewing today’s game only, it was 2 points dropped. We were the better team.

But we are not going to win each and every game. So are draws good then? Better than a defeat?

5 wins, 5 defeats and 5 DRAWS will prity much keep us up. Still any good?

No draws are not good in a relegation battle

I think the slight panic from everyone is we aren't seeing an improvement in position considering our upturn in form and results but if we consider at the beginning of this run we were 7 points from 22nd whereas now we are 2 points from 18th then there's definitely cause for optomism in us been in a better position come the end of March

Better than a loss at a difficult venue and a clean sheet as well

Well I've stopped going and can only rely on the reports but it seems every game there is a horrendous refereeing decision against us (penalty not given, bad fouls etc). As bad as things are, if you add all these up we could have been safe already.

Let’s not blame anyone but ourselves for the position we find ourselves in.

Lot of work to do but we are getting nearer pulling out of it wirh 3 key games to come.

By 'ourselves' you mean Rahic of course and I am no happy clapper as you know ;)

I am not trying to make excuses just an observation but in spite of the many deficiencies we could have been 10+ points better off but for atrocious refereeing. We would even have won at megabucks Sunderland but for the referee.

It was a good point, and if we feel hard done by or think we could have got all three, then that's reason to be cheerful. Because Wycombe are no mugs at Adams Park. They've beaten a lot of sides this season there.

Another week on the training ground, get Butterfield and Clarke fully integrated and look forward to something better next Saturday against a side who'll try and play.

On here you always get the usual ‘glass half full/empty’ style of poster plus the ‘my glass is cracked/someone has stolen it’ style of posts. Apart from the horrendous Southend display, then since the beginning of December results have dramatically improved. Given that Barnsley and Sunderland are clear promotion candidates (along with Luton who turned us over at the end of November), then the pattern of win at home, draw away has been established.

Given the remaining 15 fixtures, if you accept that Portsmouth away and Luton at home are potential zero points, Then the remaining 13 fixtures could yield 25 points with a win at home draw away sequence. Throw in some away defeats then 20 points is still very possible, which could see us to safety.

I think people have to ‘get real’, we are doing better than under the previous regime. As you say with Butterfield and Clarke having time on the training pitch, then the team can get stronger.

Would have felt more confident if we had brought in an experienced centre forward, At the moment we have two number 10s playing one of which plays in the centre forward role but is unable to play it well, We lack that physical presence and ability to hold the ball up top when needed,

I wasn't using time spent following City as a yardstick....reading it back I should have put we....not you. We're probably all lifers on here anyway. Sorry for any offence and I wasn't having a dig. I was in a good mood with the point and comparison with the home game, Leeds and Town losing and a grand agraah curry. Should maybe read stuff back and use those smiley jobbies....apologies again

What’s the rationale for 2 points dropped? We can be disappointed not to win but it’s not 2 points dropped. We were never winning. Bit of a negative slant on things. Fordy is the type of person who complains about it being too warm in summer.

Agreed. But they're a hell of a lot better than defeats. Every point counts. But in the context of a game we should have won a draw was undoubtedly disappointing.

Real shame the ref didn't see that handball on the line. A goal from the pen and a big chunk of the game against ten men and we'd have won it.

We had the better of the game, I felt. Even during their better spells at the start and end they never really looked very threatening. Our much maligned defence held up well, including your bogeyman O'Connor, and I thought Akpan had another decent game.

    Nail on the head.

The teams around us have also been picking up good results hence why we’ve not improved on our league position, though the gap to lower mid table now has shrunk significantly in the past 6 or 7 weeks. Keep going as we are and we will get there.

4 points from our next 2 home games would take us out of the relegation zone with a point or 2 to spare IMO.
