We are no further forward ? Nothing about the players we've "bungled" through the door makes me any more confident of getting anything at Wycombe. Nothing's changed. In Hopkin I don't trust he's shown himself up badly in this window and in his inept decision making in recent games.

 

Any chance of a postponement?

Well...it’s snowed in Wycombe in the last couple of hours, nothing major but a decent covering. Issue is more the temperature as it’s barely got above freezing for the last few days - it was forecasted so hopefully the pitch was covered!

 

In summary
Butterfield good player best days at Hudders. Lttle football this season but did we need him ? Was he ever a Hopkin target until this week ?
Clarke I like Billy I really do but zero football this season looks like a Julian idea to curry favour with the "Bantams Family" can't depend on him staying fit. Was he really a Hopkin target until today ?
Woods looks reasonable in two games especially with Wood in front of him. 5 mins football all season until he turned out for us at Burton. Was he really a Hopkin target two weeks ago ?
Anderson played little football past twelve months.A record of injury where does he fit in ? Who does he displace ? What's his role ? Honestly was he a Hopkin target ever ? I'm discounting Anderson.
P O'Connor early signs aren't great ? Hopkin threw him to the dogs at Barnsley then made that useless decision to throw him on with us 3-2 up on Saturday. Result he gives the pen away and it nearly cost us 2 precious points Was he ever a Hopkin target ? I doubt it.
All in all its 3/10 for me in this window as we knew it would be. Hopkin has essentially misled us talking of players to improve and compliment what we have ? He made it sound like he had players lined up for 1st Jan properly researched and attainable. Reality was a scatter gun panic stations recruitment of players with no long term future at the club. Players who to me make little difference to my hopes we can continue climb out of the mess we landed ourselves in. So I say again I am no more confident in Hopkin or our chances of survival because of this bang less than average bit of recruitment. We are where we are no further forward. Think on this one ? If we do end up going down (and it's no less likely than it's ever been) how many of these players are going to be back in training next July for a League Two campaign ? Your right ! Not many.

I don't see any of today's signings playing a part this weekend.

 

Probably wasnt a target but probably realised early doors mcgowan was off.

He was useless at Barnsley yes, but that was hopkin' fault for moving our right back into midfield, deciding to play with three defenders, one of whom was the kid who trained with us for only 3 hours previously.

Oh and he didnt give the penalty away on tuesday either, it was caddis.

Whilst I agree with your sentiments, your post contains an error.

It wasn’t O’Connor that gave away the penalty- that was Caddis.

And what difference does it make whether the player came into Hopkin’s radar today or last month? Both of today’s signings are good footballers. I have a doubt about Clarke in that I can’t see where he will play, with us already having Ball and Payne, but there’s no doubt they are decent players
