Wycombe Away 2nd February 2019

Did we need Butterfield, lol, a proven Championship player who cost 5 million and is on a whopping wage - a player totally beyond our means - did we need him, lol, what a silly question.

My advice - stay away from bridges, railway lines and high buildings.

 

OK ........... Some fair points made, but not all of which many would agree with.
For me - 5 / 10 for recruitment ............. With a possible shift of 1, either way - Depending how it all pans out.
The main difference for me is a stronger bench, even though it still lacks 'options'.

As has been done to the death ..... Our biggest 'rival' this window was a lack of finances, and NOT so much Hopkins lack of judgement.

 

Doubt it will be on tomorrow, looking at the weather down there.

 

Don’t usally like games been off and I do hope we play but am Not sure it would be a bad thing. If Saturday gets called off we’ve got back to back home games and it give us our best chance to build some momentum. Also gives hopkin time to work with the new signings and gets us that bit closer to having scannell and mellor back fit .
A friend down there lives close by - Reasonable Chance it been off I would say mate. Bit of snow and think more due. Wycombes high so tends to get hammered a bit more with surrounding roads etc not good

 

Ground is about a mile away in this picture - more snow forecast apparently today. Town’s not high but is in a valley so you can’t really get anywhere without encountering a hill, which knackers the traffic. Got to be in doubt tomorrow.

 

Saw it was -9 there last night and predicting the same again tonight. I would be surprised if the pitch is playable.

 

Yes, I think it would be a good game to be postponed.

 

I get what you're saying but the downside would be if the teams around us do play and get good results, pushing us back down to second from bottom again.

If you look at twitter right now for the Wycombe area, it sounds as though the snow is causing a lot of problems. Schools closed and public transport restricted.

I'm not sure any of the new lads will start this game.

Given its away I would imagine Hopkin will go with an unchanged team to Tuesday.

 

The ground may be frozen though.

The weather has generally been bright and sunny in the last week but it looks cloudy today so it's probable the ground won't thaw out.

Picture posted at 3.20 pm yesterday, today's forecast +3 and overnight 0 with +4 tomorrow.

 

I’m 25 miles from Wycombe. Been quite a bit of snow around me but not enough to block main roads etc. That said forecast isn’t getting higher than 4 degrees and more light snow forecast over night. If they have covers on, I’d be shocked if it’s postponed but certainly a chance.

Strongly suggest to check in before any one starts travelling down from the North.

 

Wasted their time given that it started snowing around 9 o’clock last night - if they didn’t cover the pitch then they’re probably screwed, couple of inches of snow laying on the ground.

Don’t know where you’re looking mate but it’s forecast -2c overnight with snow all day today.

Even if the pitch was cleared, ice in the stands and surrounding areas make it hazardous.

It won’t be on.
