Encouraging to think we're getting there. Couple of months ago we'd have been hammered 4-0.

 

He need’s help, definitely - however, we shouldn’t be debating handball or not as he should have put that away, along with the header just before half-time. He seemed busy and much more effective than Miller when he came on, both of them need to play in a 2; maybe not together, but they need strike partners.

 

Went in the Wycombe bar after the game, heard from a trust board member that they ran out of pies (after 40 minutes!) because they were working to an estimate of 300 away fans - ridiculous. O’Conner and Payne were their standouts for us, probably have to agree.

 

Telling stat from today was 10 shots but only 1 on target-and that was Doyles weak effort that their lad seemed to block on the line with his arm.
Good solid performance and a well earned point at a solid home team.

I can't wait to see Butterfield and how he can influence the game.

 

Except when we score like 4 for instance.

 

I don't know what Doyle's goals from open play is it 5 with 3 pen's ?, but hitting the target isn't that bad :

If you take into consideration just how poor we were until December I don't think it's that bad, we would all like more of course.

 

Doyle is the best option we’ve got. Though it might be worth pushing Ball further forward and sticking Butterfield in for Wood.

Actually, the Midland Road stand don't seem to rate him too highly in general.

I’ve always backed Doyle but christ his finishing leaves a lot to desired. And don’t get me started on his heading...

Its not his fault we paid over the odds for him, but price tags increase expectations I'm afraid.

 

It was kind of his fault or his agents. Demand big wages, expect big expectations

 

People are on about another forward to effectively give him chances but he’s missing chances regularly as it is. Some of those chances i would expect a striker to put away.

 

It will be fine if he bags 15 a season from open play, that gives him plenty of scope for missing sitters, but he's nowhere near bagging 1 in 3. Goals from open play must be equivalent to Hanson, and he got pelters.
