Stuff like this doesn't really bother me. It doesn't create division, its no big deal, it seeks to align some of the terminology bewteen the men and women's game - and on a semi related point, the female ref we had against Harrogate was definitely one of the better ones we've had at this level, so we should be less defensive about the role that women has to play in the game.

There are examples outside of the game that are more problematic as far as I'm concerned, because they're absent of common sense, they create division and aiming to either solve a problem that isn't there, or taking a significantly misbalanced view that undermines the role and value of women in society. For example, replacing the term 'woman' with terms like 'vulva owners', 'people with cervix's' or 'pregnant people'. Ridiculous.

 

You can be nice to people without ostracising others with different views like teachers who refuse to bend with modern trends .And without any love for people like Farage it’s an outrage he has had his banking taken away. Just as it is an injustice to JK Rowling by trying to cancel her.
I believe in the rights of people whatever their views.

 

Public toilets, changing rooms and any female only areas are now inherently more dangerous and easier to access for perverts, paedophiles, predators and deviants if only due to the common persons worry of being labelled am "isn't" or a "phobic" and subsequent refusal to challenge anything that may offend.

I'm clearly p1ssing in the wind trying to convince you but I do believe the vast majority of people in Britain would at least agree with parts of the above.

 

Always gets a little chuckle from me every time someone moans about the mysterious 'wokeism' nonsense.

The connotations aren't even remotely negative, but middle aged men like to have a paddy because other people are more aware of other people's feelings than they are, and because they're so insecure they have to pretend that is a negative.

They also deployed a large graphic with the words 'periods have no gender'. The context and content was clear. A display with no reference to the word 'woman', despite the subject matter being menstruation.

Honestly the lunatics are now running the asylum. Ample examples of it everywhere.

 

How are you in a position to know the skin colour of posters on here? Are you making assumptions about skin colour on the basis of opinions posted, because if so, I'd call that racist behaviour, which should be unacceptable on this forum.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. The "player of the match" thing is nothing to me. Simply the sign of a growing - albeit comparatively small - interest in women's sports.

The bigger issue to me is language and biology based. The insistence that sex and gender are not at all linked in the majority of cases and trying to make everything, even pregnancy, gender neutral is just a minefield with little actual rationale. It strikes me that people have found an idea where they can stomp their feet and say "you must agree with me otherwise you're xxxxx-phobic" and I don't think that's how it should actually work.

But no. Maternity wards rarely publish anything as far as I can see. That's not really a surprise to be honest though as it's not really their main job.

Elements of the media have pushed that general narrative though on wider topics than simply pregnancy.

Just to add to my previous 'the woke movement is eating itself' comment. There are some well intended elements, but the approach on the whole is so misguided and lacking in balance, its become almost a competition in who can out do each other in being the most virtuous souls around. Its completely lacking in authenticity too. People outwardly saying one thing and privately behaving in a very different manner.

Censorship is a massive issue. True democracy is built upon freedom of speech. Its being eroded, bit by bit.

 

Pretty much. I use the Kurt Zouma cat thing as an example of how the world is truly eating itself, going from a man kicking a cat to blaming the world of the white man for slavery. You couldn't make shit up as good as this. Complaining that adidas have dropped him as an athlete yet nothing happened to Hazard when he kicked the ball boy. Yup, that's where the eating ourselves has gotten us. Remember when Jessica Ennis removed her name from Bramall Lane. It's a strange world, one I won't miss when I'm gone.

 

Let's just get one thing clear. Only women can get pregnant. This is a scientific fact. You usually learn this around the age of 3 or 4.

To suggest otherwise is basically denying science, which is beyond absurd.

Another fact. There are two genders. You are either born Male or Female.
