Stuff like this doesn't really bother me. It doesn't create division, its no big deal, it seeks to align some of the terminology bewteen the men and women's game - and on a semi related point, the female ref we had against Harrogate was definitely one of the better ones we've had at this level, so we should be less defensive about the role that women has to play in the game.

There are examples outside of the game that are more problematic as far as I'm concerned, because they're absent of common sense, they create division and aiming to either solve a problem that isn't there, or taking a significantly misbalanced view that undermines the role and value of women in society. For example, replacing the term 'woman' with terms like 'vulva owners', 'people with cervix's' or 'pregnant people'. Ridiculous.

I think it is one of those things quoted as happening to show daft things which turn out to be untrue such as EU making bananas straight

The Leeds Medical Musuem has, (or least had, last month) had a display on Periods/Menstruation. The Briefing Note in the display read:

'in 2019, Global Citizen published statistics that highlighted over 800 million people menstruate daily across the world, with over 50% of the global population getting a period at some point in their lives'. There's more commentary that fills an A4 page and the word 'Woman/Women' isn't included once.

If only they had something in common eh?

Its the sheer lunacy of it all that makes the mind boggle.

 

I presume you are aware that not all women menstruate monthly and not all women menstruate at any point in their life? So saying women in this sense would be not be medically factual which as a medical
