    Just caught up with yesterday's game between Spurs and Brighton on ITV4
    Towards the end the commentators discussed NOT the MAN of the match now but PLAYER of the match, anybody explain the thinking on this...?

    I'm a one man band, on this forum anyway, against all things lefty and wokeism
    I sit behind kids not even in double figures agewise that actually applaud our muppets taking the knee, some will say that it is up to the individual players but we have one on loan from Huddersfield that wouldn't take the knee in a Huddersfield shirt but would be expected to in a Bradford shirt, I rest my case...

    The thing is how it sounds. Man of the Year and Man of the Tournament doesn't really flow, neither does Player of the Match. There really is no need for the change to Player of the Match, if in the woman game they want to use it as Woman of the Match doesn't really flow either but seeing as everyone playing in a man's football match is a man it does stink of wokeness. There are times when being more inclusive can make sense, for example perhaps in something like snooker or Darts you wouldn't have Man of the Match as its a mixed sport but in this case it makes no sense, it's just trying to appease a small group of snowflakes

    It’s funny, isn’t it. The ones shouting about snowflakes and wokeism, are generally
    the ones crying, pissing and moaning the most about anything and everything.

    Always gets a little chuckle from me every time someone moans about the mysterious 'wokeism' nonsense.

    The connotations aren't even remotely negative, but middle aged men like to have a paddy because other people are more aware of other people's feelings than they are, and because they're so insecure they have to pretend that is a negative.

    It's not quite the shield they think it is. They still look like middle aged men having a paddy.
