Of course it is there will be plenty of choice out there and it will be up to Stuart to recruit well. However there is a worry as well when he says DMH may be one of the signings

I would be fine with DMH as a home grown squad player.

Can't we do prime numbers one match and composite numbers the next match? That should be fun.

No-one is saying they should spend all their money on improving their setups but they are basically spending none of it. Bournemouth are actually a good example of doing it right which is how they have been able to be a fairly secure PL side so they were ready for each jump.

And clubs could fund lower legaue teams setups but they would want more formal agreements of cooperation. Man Utd aren’t going to be happy giving you millions to improve your setup only to find the likes of Liverpool and Man City are the ones who benefit from it as you take their players on loan and they have an equal chance of getting the best prospects

And I’ve said over and over again that my problem with giving more money has been on how clubs will use it. The money they get now is used to help pay players of Akpans limited ability £150k a year. Giving them more money without some formal ring-fencing in place Is just going to see them spend it all on players and as £400mill is 4 times what they get now then it’s going to have to keep being paid in that situation as clubs need to become more self sufficient and a big part of that is improving the quality of the players via better & more modern training and making the product better so people want to consume it more.

You also need to remember that not only is the PL on the hook for something like £350mill if the season isn’t finished (I bet the EFL won’t be rushing to returning part of the solidarity payments if the TV broadcasters trigger the repayment) but PL teams are on to lose a lot of next season has to be played behind closed doors as well. So it’s not like they are all secure financially. You again need to remember it may seem like if a club can’t buy a £50mill player for a season but a big part of what’s made the PL worth so much has been the ability to get these big players, that has to be taken into account as if the tv money gets hit the solidarity payments will get reduced too

According to him it was £200k PLUS the players wages. And you have to remember this wasn't Greenwood of now, this was Greenwood who had 2 sub appearances and a single start.

I would also add that Sheffield United are only paying around £100k + wage contribution for Henderson and paid a fair bit less last season. So either the Peterborough chairman is making the figures up or it’s someone who was closer to the first team than Henderson (Greenwood, Chong and Gomes the obvious ones at the start of the season. Maybe Garner)

And the PL haven't? When you have kids of 18/19 that are on in excess of £20k a week and never likely to see the first team and lord knows how many players on over £100k a week...If they are getting £2bn in TV rights over 3 years is it, all the multi million pound sponsorship deals...and they are still complaining that they don't have any money..who really is wasting the money.

Again we are all going to use our common sense. But to help us an electronic card system will be installed. You will not see a anyone on turnstile to read your ticket. The seats will be marked out and you walk to an available seat (maybe not your usual one ?). You wont be rushing in ? No need gates will open at 11:00 am and supporters assemble in an orderly manner. Bring a drink & lunch whilst you await kick off. No last min arrivals gates will close at 2:30pm. Anyone ignoring the protocols will have their ticket suspended. Next home game you watch on Ifollow and the other half of the season ticket subscribers have access to the ground. Its simple easy to understand and definitely safe and manageable. We certainly cannot go a whole season without bums on seats.

All this is fair argument under normal circumstances, but I’m talking more about a temporary one off payment from the premier league to keep potentially many clubs below afloat. Not for them to waste it on crap like Akpan, the development argument is one for a time when we aren’t in the most unpredictable time since WW2, it’s solely about whether the PL and it’s members care about saving clubs, many of which they have shared a division with at one time or another.

I know there is a lot going on (or not) but I am fairly sure we are a League 2 club (like it or not)! ;)

Really, really? Not my words, a direct quote states, “That means Bradford are set to recoup in the region of £2.5m from their Yorkshire rivals’ initial outlay of £17m”. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united/latest-blades-news/bradford-city-cash-sheffield-united-land-striker-1752188
I think that is ‘Big’ money. It certainly totally overshadows any fee for Wyke.

Yeah I was referring to the previous season. We were 2 leagues apart from Salford. This season we're finishingnjus 1 place above them and yet they're the one s who've failed...

they have failed because they are a club on the up and have stalled whereas we are a club on a downward trajectory

Stalled in what way? It's their first season as a professional club and on a PPG basis they'd finish 9th. Not too shabby. They'll be better next season too I think

Salary cap is a proposal they are looking at in our league. I hope it’s strictly enforced and the only worry is clubs will try find a way around it but it’s a start

That's what I referred to in an earlier post, backhanders probably aren't as easy to get away with today but there will always be one maverick...
