The game is really about players. The budget/wages/ recruitment are all more important than who the manager is as is non interference from the owners.

see here is another one that changes with the weather.

McCalls tippy tappy had us outside the top 6 on 4 occasions. Twice at the very start of each campaign.

Last year we were undefeated at home with tippy tappy. But guess what we had a squad. An a very decent first 11.

Everyone knew at the start of the season players replacement was not to the standard leaving. Yet some blamed McCall not the recruitment. Now the proven manager has done little to improve. Guess what its the players fault. Ha ha

Wake up its the head coach fault!

It was ALWAYS A MONEY THING

McArdle to old, ha ha. He did not fit into our new recruitment of enhanced wages. None of the old guard did.

Most of my posts recently have pinned hope for next season on Grayson staying. I still think he is the right man for the job and he has been trying to implement a mentality to players that aren't equipped to adopt it.

Providing that he is given the tools he needs (I suspect we will find that out in the coming weeks as to whether he stays) then he can be a success here. There is a recruitment job on this summer for whoever is in charge, but a nucleus of McGowan, Kilgallon, NKP, Vincelot, Reeves, Wyke, Jones isn't the worst of starting points.

a forward thinking younger manager that's played league football in the last decade or so. someone that might play something a bit more cultured and expansive than just punting it towards the tallest player they can find to put up front.

correct! the thing that worrys me is only Wyke is an asset. It was all about assets before hence why most of parkys old guard that mccall had, needed to go.

    Not so.
I was one of Parky's biggest fans, and Grayson was always my number 1 choice to replace McCall.
Without a budget to match the likes of Wigan and Blackburn, for example this season, their style is more suited to bringing success to Bradford City in my opinion. Mo matter what you may think of the owners, they are never going to realistically spend the type of fee and wages to bring the best players like Bradley Dack here to be able to play great attacking football and succeed.
I always backed McCall as manager out of respect and love for the man, but I was still one of very many who didnt want him back for a second spell 2 years ago, when Parky left.

that's by the by at this stage.

this is about the new manager - and I want to see some football played, the ball to actually be on the pitch we're supposedly sorting out this summer, some pace in the side, expansive football.

I don't want a dinosaur such as the likes of Parkinson, Grayson, Peter Taylor, Colin Todd etc etc.

I want Grayson to stay and be given the tools to get us out of this division. However seen as that isn’t going to happen then someone like Kenny Jacket. In an ideal world Chris Wilder would have a massive fall out with the Blunts board in the next few weeks and walk straight into the job when Grayson inevitably walks.

Just out of interest Ricc, who would you realistically want as manager next season. Assuming the current regime are still in charge, you will have to rule out McCall

I want to see football played in the opponents half not tippy tappy pass it backy. In our own half. Most of all I want to see a winning team whatever way we play

I read somewhere last week that he had become unsettled at the club and may want out. Not sure why though, as it was his dream job managing his boyhood club

McCall had the best win % in the league Since Roy McFarland. He had the best win rate in all competitions since Trevor Cherry. He had us outside the playoffs in 4 games during his second tenure both at the very start of each campaign. His football was a joy compared to Parkie and Grayson.

Yet because he is one of our own we thinks its sentimental.

We need to add some context to this.

Scotland had 2 Champions League spots because they had 2 Champions League quality sides. Rangers fell by the wayside and it then became easier (not easy though) to get into those spots until UEFA adjust the rankings so that Scotland only got one spot.

You can get into European competitions by doing well in the Lithuanian league. It doesn't mean that you have management skill to operate and be successful outside of that though.
