Of course it's a different bill.. it's TV!

Sorry for me football is about going to the game with friends or family.. spending the day or afternoon together.

PL football is different because the demand to get into the stadium is higher, fan base bigger and the quality is better as @Interested Bystander@Interested Bystander can say.

For 14k to sit at home pay x amount to watch div 2 football on TV with no atmosphere isn't going to happen.

As for the bill you because the experience is different you then have to consider it with other tv bills you pay like Sky etc.

    We won't get 8k ifollowers..

On a side issue PL have voted to go back to 3 subs.

Can't remember what the EFL did in the Championship, play offs etc but I hope it's 3 subs for for all leagues next season.

I can't remember as Efl was boring.

Jesus Christ, the EFL clearly isn't fit to run a bath. Reading that it's clear they haven't consulted with the very people that will suffer the most, the players. Should never have got to this stage but the EFL chose to ignore blatant warning signs like Bury and Macclesfield and their fit and proper purpose test is laughable.

Yes,we tend to forget the PFA but they have shall we say a massive part to play and they have been overlooked big time.
Should be an interesting meeting tomorrow.

I'm stunned by this. Not that the PFA don't have reason to be involved since they clearly do. But like you that the EFL have failed to involve the players' representative body in the discussions on the way forward for the sport. At times, the EFL manage to demonstrate their continuing inability to govern the sport and they've proved again that changes in the governance of the game are long overdue.

There's a "theory" that the EFL are just treading water in anticipation of the EPL stepping to bail them out.

If the EFL get the required backing 60% ?, I can't see what the PFA can actually do about it, clubs have to "cut your cloth to suit" there will still be owners who will pay good money for right players just that they have to fit that cost into their budget by maybe bringing more kids in.

I can almost understand that viewpoint and I'm sure there will be subtle presssure being applied to the PL by the likes of DMCS and the major TV sponsors for them to help support the EFL clubs for the good of the sector. But the EFL are their own worst enemies. They regularly prove that they haven't the whererwithal to govern their own league properly. If the PL are to be convinced to help the EFL financially, the first step for the EFL is to convince other governing bodies, and particularly the money bags at the PL, that they are worth preserving. At the moment, I don't believe they are.

The fact remains the PFA have not been consulted regarding the financial implications on its members many who are now unemployed.
I believe ROD is our PFA rep and assume that he as been contacted by the Union regarding this very important oversight.

That sums up the PL position perfectly.

ps I'm surprised that Ms Brady as an upstanding member of the 'great and the good' club would use such language! ;)

Don't get me wrong it would have been the correct thing to do to involve PFA, and I have no problem with the PFA getting the best deals ETC for there members, but it looks like football certainly the lower leagues could not carry on paying some of the figures quoted for League One and Two players, it's a shame it has come to possibly several clubs going to the wall to bring a little common sense to the table, yes clubs have not helped themselves at times going for broke and putting their clubs at risk.

The EFL won't escape the wrath coming their way Bronco.
    The emortal words
"Told you so "ringing in their tiny ears when the inevitable happens.
When more than one club goes to the wall, and they will mark my words.

One thing that doesn't seem to have been discussed is the impact on over 25s.
With this salary cap and squad limit you are effectively making a very large portion of players unemployed due to their age.
When you consider that most if not all of these players have been paying subs to the PFA for several years I can see why they would be concerned.

If that happens, I fear the PL will give the EFL a list of demands to go with the loaning of money. Main one being Premier league B teams in the EFL. Much like Spain etc. Game done then for me
