This is what I really do not understand
All the figures I have seen are that rates are falling daily yet we have just had restrictions reimposed doesn't make any sense at all
More people will die from non Covid related illness in the coming months Cancer treatment Kidney dialysis etc were all stopped in April it's inevitable wonder if the government will class them as Covid deaths

I get the feeling the govt is waiting to see the outcome of other countries (France has already held some trial events). Its a real pain and causing serious long term damage to all businesses. I'm just hoping that the rest of Europe is able to reopen successfully and there will then be pressure on the UK govt to follow shortly after.

If I've made no mistake, Bradford's Pillar 1+2 new case numbers combined since available from 3rd of July is:
    32,28,14,31,39,26,22,30,27,21,29,36,38,33,32,27,27,33,35,50,30,23,39,38,41,44,46,57,31

    From August 1st
    20,60

It should be noted that the UK testing is increasing. The 7-day average of daily tests has increased about 40% in the last month from around 90k per day to around 128k. Bradford testing has probably increased since at least 4 testing stations were opened in July. The UK hit rate on testing actually continues to fall (from around 0.7% to 0.5% in the month) suggesting less virus about, as do Covid GP consultations, Emergency Department consultations, hospital admissions, intensive care admissions, deaths and excess deaths (See pages15 and 18-20.).

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/906073/Weekly_COVID19_Surveillance_Report_week_31_FINAL_V2.pdf

The virus continues to fade for now, despite increasing air movements/summer tourism/migrant workers bringing some cases in from highly infected countries. There is little evidence it is spreading into UK resident populations if half of cases are now ethnic minorities and some of those bringing it in from Eastern Europe would not be even be classed as BAME (hence more than 50% of recent low levels of infections are probably imported or friends/ relatives/co-workers of importers). These migrants and visitors are less likely to use GPs and hospitals and are likely to be younger so less likely to get ill enough to need the NHS. That's why numbers getting ill continue to fall even if positive tests don't. If we did not have herd immunity, hot spots should be spreading to our old and vulnerable and filling hospitals but it isn't. Ask yourself why the virus is fading in hospitals here yet it's rocketing in Japan in summer with masks. The likely answer is we have herd immunity after being hit hard in the spring. They did not get it much in the spring so they are getting it again, and worse now, since they lifted state of emergency restrictions late May.

With a second wave strongly expected over autumn / winter I would forget about the possibly of attending matches this coming season.

I am not sure he is scaremongering though from earlier posts it seems that some sort of vaccine may be available before the end of the year and that could help to reduce the effect Covid 19 has on you thus reducing the % that need hospitalisation.
From what I gather most coronaviruses dont have a 100% effective vaccine so there is hope.

How football survives IF we aren't allowed to return to grounds any time soon is another matter altogether. I suspect IFollow will have to be part of a clubs revenue stream.

Not true. I work for the NHS and I can tell you the word on the street is that no one knows what will happen in the winter. There are three main possible scenarios - one is a second wave but the other two are not.

Get NHS management on here. There's plenty that seem to know exactly what's going to happen.

Read what I said. Under this government yes because I don't believe that they want fans back in sporting events. Hence why the government wanted to pilot..Pilot what? and then wait 3 months.

I've said that we need to have out of the box thinking for this clueless government.

If the government want fans back then they would just do what Germany and Scotland have done.

    This is also of interest.

The PL are going to suggest pre season friendlies to be part of this nonsense pilot scheme by the government.

While the EFL are talking salary cap rubbish the PL are trying to get fans back. Proposals to be submitted to the government in a few weeks.

Who know it might include no over 70's.

That’s your mantra you take great pleasure in saying that don’t you. Premier league clubs have plenty of money the EFL doesn’t

As you like to remind us all incessantly, you clearly are a source of great ideas. I'm surprised that when you're not running your businesses, you aren't spending more time selling your ideas or even bringing them to market. That way, you'll have an even better portfolio of businesses from which to make money for yourself.

The only downside for you would be you'd have less time on here to bore the pants off others with your repetitive posts share your ideas with other posters but that might be a small price to pay by others on here for your continuing success. The rest of us might get over it in time.
