Me too. The Premier League is eating itself. There’s a complete disregard for clubs and supporters in the EFL, from a PL perspective. It’s at risk of becoming a parody of itself - its players are vastly overpaid, tickets are over priced, games are scheduled solely to suit the agenda of TV companies and supporters generally are disregarded. I hope it gets the reality check that I suspect may be heading its way.

If this virus has proved anything to me its that the general public are more retarded than i thought. I knew there were large numbers that needed constant supervision but i didn't realise how many. Take for instance Tesco where the social distancing advice seems to be well adhered to with plenty of staff showing clear concise signs on where to go and what to do. Aldi meanwhile where there is no supervision bar a member of staff at the door its literally a free for all, pretty much like a normal shopping day. Doesn't matter how clear and concise you make the advice, some people are just plain thick.

It’s a fact until Christmas we were in a play off position. And even when the season effectively finished we were in the top few home records. The season is like no other in history with this virus and it will be good to see the back of it.

There were only 23 new positive cases across Yorkshire's hospitals on Saturday. 3rd day without in Calderdale. 10th day without in York and Scarborough, and none in Leeds, Barnsley, Hull and North Yorkshire hospitals. Large sections of Yorkshire's medical community did not see a new case on Saturday.

Excess deaths were negligible in the first week of June (top of page 2):

"In week 23/2020 in England, no statistically significant excess mortality by week of death above the upper 2z-score threshold was seen overall or by age group."

You are now more at risk of dying from an accident in the home (about 6000 per year in normal times - higher now) than dying from Covid-19 at current rates of infection. I don't see papers running scare stories about staying in, though. 600,000 mostly old and compromised people die each year. Current rates of Covid-19 will kill about 4000 per year - but it is falling quickly. Current Covid-19 levels increase their risk of death by less than 1% - and it's falling quickly. Why should people hide at home from an increased risk of less than 1%? Media have been terrible at explaining risk.

The R value, especially regional ones, are going to generate some rubbish when some areas are down to zero infections. Rates are now getting so low that R is not really worth bothering with any more unless it gets very high for several days or is slightly above 1 for weeks. R has clearly been very low in recent weeks for cases to drop away so quickly. It raises questions over the published values.

So over 50s will be prioritised for the vaccine which is advancing pretty quickly. So presumably we will be allowed into grounds and the likes of @Fordy117@Fordy117 wont. How ironic that would be

@Fordy117@Fordy117 please do NOT get your Merc predictive text fixed.
That's twice you have given me a right laugh in the last 24 hours with a predictive text faux pas yet it adds a delightful twist to the argument.

What did you post yesterday? Have you ever wondered why there is always an Audi near Morrisons, when you meant Aldi.
You have right cheered me up.

Not read this whole thread but I'd support an increase in ST prices for this year. Even if they put an extra 50 quid on its still loads cheaper than other clubs and the club might need that money

This season has to finish. I'd stop people with other health issues from coming.

this but the matter of rent is another subject, however rest assured the Club is aware.
In my career I built a huge estate with a significant annual rental income through development I had carried out. This included shopping malls, retail parks, industrial estates, takeaway food units, even Doctor's surgeries. In the period we experienced probably three hard financial downturns and my approach, supported by my fellow Directors was always an occupied property on lower or nil rent was better than an empty one which was not re-lettable.
I introduced rental holidays, i.e zero rent payable for an agreed period or proportional rents, i.e. half rent for a period. Generally it worked and was welcomed by the Tenants.
All of this is for the period leading to the next rent payment date in June but rest assured JR and me to an extent are over this, we have been in touch several times over the last week and a half.
    Thanks for the thought though.

What are Swansea intending doing? Asking us for the bulk of the money back, nearly £2.5mill, we've already received from them throughout this season? No. The only part of the McBurnie money which is at risk is our share of the final payment Swansea will receive if the Blades remain in the PL. It's not a trifling amount in our terms but relatively small compared to what we've already received.

The FA is intending introducing a new rule to enforce the 2 metre personal distancing advice on the pitch. That might well play to our strengths since we adopted that rule a couple of seasons ago! ;)

Unbelievable mate, comparing people out of a job against people losing their loved ones.

My daughter who's friend is a nurse spoke to her this morning and said the older people who get COVID 19 will not be resuscitated, I can understand that statement, but with me and my wife both being over 70 I can assure you that is far more worrying than whether this football season is completed.
My dear old mum had a new hip replacement at 80 years old so I'd suggest if the above is fact the NHS are taking this virus very seriously.

There needs to be demand for people to go back to work. Sadly, right now getting anything done on the house, getting my hair cut, having a coffee out with friends etc is just not necessary.

The state will be the driver of economic activity for the foreseeable future. The market is not designed to deal with situations like this; there will need to be some radical thinking to manage the issues that you rightly highlight. Rent controls, debt relief, guaranteed incomes, limits on profits/payment of dividends are all things that will have to be considered as well as re-orientating the economy towards activity that is beneficial to society as a whole. A huge growth in logistics, potentially more people working in healthcare and education etc.

In the short-term, no one should lose their home, lose their energy or water supply or access to the internet/communications because of an inability to pay. Of course there will be some people who take advantage of this, but for millions of people this will take away current anxiety and also give time for sustainable long-term solutions to be found.

Just as an aside FIFA has cash reserves of 1.5billion and as an organisation could solve every leagues issues with a cash grant if it was needed

Spot on Broncs. People like the idiot Bradford Pub Landlord who had a lock in. Fine him and take his licence.
Introduce the Northern Irish level of fines, draconian methods are the only ones some people understand.
