Harry Keane has a big head and is a selfish hit. I really don't care what that man says when he swore on his kids life to just get a goal. He's a disgrace.

She said we won't be in complete lockdown for 6 months.

So you telling Mr Rupp that next season won't happen either? she has also said that lockdowns could happen in stages which means next season is done with and only fools will be buying season tickets. This season needs to finish to give hope for next. If this season is called off then if the virus comes back then next season won't finish either!!

It will finish mate. Even if they have to add it to the start of next season.

So when does next season start in your mind?

I tell you now I am not interested in hearing about transfers. Are you?

I don't think I've ever been less interested in football in my life. And I'll be honest, I haven't missed Bradford City for 1 minute. Not yet, anyway.

I think the most likely scenario is that the season will have already ended, with next season planned to start in August as normal. Or possibly Sept with a reduction in cup competitions next season. That would allow a return to training in July, which seems broadly in line with when Social restrictions are expected to ease. Far less disruptive than trying to end this season, keeps transfers/contract renewal as-is, pretty much. No real change to commercial deals/timelines. This season to be voided under Force Majeure terms. Unfair on many - but also fair in the sense that the same approach will be applied to all. Clubs will need to be compensated financially - especially lower down the pyramid. But its the 'neatest' solution and would allow everyone a sense of clarity and an ability to start planning and managing the impacts over the coming weeks. I see no other practical solution if we are indeed talking about 3-6 months minimum of varying social restrictions. Bear in mind, that its likely that there'll need to be a uniform solution for all the major leagues in Europe, as there are implications to European qualification - so in a sense we're also constrained by what's happening in Spain and Italy.

Italy are saying they're in their peak now and they aim to complete the season in Aug/self

Sport gives hope to people mate but those suggesting the season ends needs to seriously think about the bigger picture and understand next season will be a massive issue if this one can't finish.

Sport on tv will people a massive uplift even if it's behind closed doors.

However, no no cares right now about tlransfwrs etc player she wages etc..

Faithful I am enjoying not losing mate....

Who would have thought........Vaughan on 14 goals and Doyle 25 Goals...... at least we can put an end to this wretched season...and the financial shortfall just about sums it all up.

Move on and lets all build for next year....... stay safe boys

The president of UEFA himself has said: ‘the European football season "would probably be lost" if it won't restart by the end of June at the latest’.

Now think about that statement. For football to restart by the end of June, players will have to be in a position where they restart training by the end of May. At that point, they’ll have not played for 3 months – that’s akin to a summer break, so they’ll effectively need a preseason. So it would need social restrictions to have eased fairly significantly within 2 months to allow for that training to restart.

Suggesting that footballers would get a free pass on social restrictions is naïve. What other sports would then expect the same? Why just football? The commercial contracts won’t matter – they pale into nothing when you look at the sums of money the government is throwing at this thing. And it’s all well and good saying ‘play the games behind closed doors’ – would the masses really confine themselves to their homes when the games are on? Especially the crunch games that decide the outcomes. Liverpool have been waiting 30 years for a title. Hundreds and Thousands of Scousers are going to be self-controlled, well-heeled citizens who celebrate in the confines of their own home are they? Or the Leeds fans who’ve been waiting 20 years to get back to the Premiership? Of course they’re not. And look at it at an even more fundamental level. Dave the self-employed plasterer is expected to be a good citizen, keep turning down work and stay indoors to live on fresh air after 3 months of no work – while a bunch of multi-millionaire footballers get to crack on? Is he balls – and I wouldn’t blame him. Why should he? Those folk – and there are plenty of them – will think ‘sod this, I’m going to work’. Reinstating football in the midst of social restrictions would send completely the wrong message and be very harmful for what the government is supposedly trying to achieve.

There's no way the Government are going to ask people to go through what they are, spend a Trillion quid bailing out the economy and jeopardize it all just to get a few games of football on.

Unless things improve against the odds over the next 3-4 weeks, this season is done.

@Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam if you are going to quote the UEFA President please do it correctly.

"If we don't succeed in restarting, the season will probably be lost," the Slovenian said.

He told Italian newspaper La Repubblica: "There is a plan A, B and C.

"The three options are to start again in mid-May, in June or at the end of June.

"There is also the possibility of starting again at the beginning of the next [season], starting the following one later. We will see the best solution for leagues and clubs."

no mention of restarting by July or it will be lost, just of it doesn’t restart it will be lost which is obvious really as allocating places based on current positions is unfair and opens up various other problems.

he also said it could be possible to play the end of this season and then roll straight into next, as well as giving every other option available

I haven't misquoted him, but I didn't include the part of ending this season at the start of next - which you've now done:

"Nobody knows when the pandemic will end," he told Italian daily La Repubblica. "We have a plan A, B or C: to restart in mid-May, in June or at the end of June.

"If then we wouldn't be able to do any of these, the season would probably be lost. There is also the possibility of ending this season at the start of the next, which would then be postponed, starting a little later.”

    https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11965081/coronavirus-uefa-president-aleksander-ceferin-says-season-risks-being-lost

So yes, its an option. But I'm not sure how that would work in practical terms.

Time will tell, but right now I think the most likely scenario is that this season will be ended. I don't see how they can keep the decision making process unended for 3 months,

they have the same powers, fixed penalty notice £60, reduced to £30 if paid within set time limit , for first time and the doubling upto a max of £960. The large fines are for unpaid fines if they end up in court

Spot on Broncs. People like the idiot Bradford Pub Landlord who had a lock in. Fine him and take his licence.
Introduce the Northern Irish level of fines, draconian methods are the only ones some people understand.

Jeopardising others for a bit of selfish fun. Not funny at all, this is a Global emergency. In business we used to say Rules are for the obedience of fools and merely for the guidance of wise men. Well rules are for the benefit of all now.

Not sure what weight Harry Kane's opinion carries?

Anyway, it's obvious that no-one has a clue how long restrictions may be in place. So talk of restarting at whatever point is indeed pointless - and the voiding of those lower leagues was also extremely premature - as is talk of voiding this season for the higher leagues. Whatever decisions are ultimately made will cause massive logistical and other issues, but what's the harm in waiting and watching - it may well be that NEXT season is massively shortened anyway, and the '2019/20' season could conveniently be concluded then.

Harry Kane carries no weight. Bet if he found out all his goal tally for Spurs and England will be rubbed out because the season didn't count he would change his tune.

Anyway, dates. Two massive boxing matches have been rearranged for July. These are to be shown on Sky. The box community and promotion would be been talking to the government because no point rearranging two fights for July if this lockdown is going on till November.

That's a clear indication to me football will be back in June/July. Might be behind closed doors to start with but going into July I doubt it if you can have 20k people watching a boxing match

There is quite a good article in the Guardian today about playing behind closed doors, and citing one of the first games where it happened, step forward Bradford City, it was in 1915, at a neutral ground, Lincoln, and the problems that occurred during the game, and how the FA were not very keen on the idea after that.

The FA don't carry much power at the moment .

They make poor decisions. The decision last week hasn't gone down well at all.

Oh and I am sick of people like big head Harry Keane with their agenda's

Let's think about it shall we:

Harry Keane plays for Spurs and Spurs currently sit 8th in the PL. 7 points behind Chelsea and really no chance of finishing in the top 4.

Now voiding the season his big head is thinking that same clubs as last year will be in the CL next season and guess what... that would include Spurs!

The man is a selfish embarrassment!
