The information I have mate is that it will come in waves. So enough lock down is more than likely going to happen in winter.

    Worrying.

I'm assuming they're accounting for mutations there?

That hasn't actually proven true with previous coronavirus's, like SARS, like avian flu, like swine flu, so I'm going to take those theories with a pinch of salt.

One thing the coronavirus's have had in common is they are SLOW to mutate - unlike influenza, which mutates at a rapid pace, and the flu jab each year is based purely on a prediction of which strain may be most prominent.

I'm not aware of any disease that 'comes back' in the exact same guise. Always a mutation.

No I heard from an expert yesterday say that from the limited information they had people only had about a two month immunity from the virus in its present form once they had suffered from it

Social distancing at this moment no but the rules can be relaxed and certainly for sport.

It's relaxed for people getting into vans. Sport bodies will be talking to the government.

    https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg24532754-600-can-you-catch-the-coronavirus-twice-we-dont-know-yet/

This article confirms you can get most coronavirus over and over.

    Didn't know that personally!

Won't be a problem for our midfield/ defence
Can't remember the last time any of them got within 2 meters of an opposing attacker

If all the players are tested before they go on the field, plus the ref, plus everyone else involved in matchday football (and looking at Liverpools/Man Citys back bench, that's a lot of people), then in theory the game should be totally safe to play behind closed doors.

However, who's to say the groundsman didn't cough on his hand just before putting the corner flag in, or someone has picked up the refs whistle without washing their hands first. Not to mention training grounds having to be monitored, plus players family homes and occupants. And their movements. And in some cases, symptoms don't show for five day, or even at all.

I just can't see it happening - too much to monitor. Wouldn't be suprised if some players also refuse to play.

Absolute nightmare for the FA and governing body of world football. Really they are on a hiding to nothing which ever way you look at it.

does it say that about noval Coronavirus ? I read that article earlier and read it again just now and it is ordinary Coronavirus that you can get again and again. That is due to mutations. They are currently putting those that claim to have had CV19 twice as either not full recovered or misdiagnosed first time. Tests on animals seem to show an immunity, but not sure on length

No, it doesn't look like they know about this one yet.

I would assume it would be similar - but it's just that, an assumption.

What people need to think is if we don't end this season then next season teams will be using the Corona Virus as an excuse not to play.

This season doesn't finish then next season is impossible in my mind.

The virus isn't going away. So let's concentrate on this season

After the comments of the Deputy CMO at yesterday's Press Call there is every possibility that we have another six months of variable strengths or waves of this.
As I have said several times, in my humble opinion, there is no chance of this season finishing and Harry Kane, quoted in the Yorkshire Post today is saying finish now.
