We've had four permanent and another as caretaker in the last 10 months, which of them have turned this sh1t storm around? :*@

The evidence is there for all to see, but if the managers get the blame then it deflects blame from the real problem.

As I just said above 5 managers in this calendar year, about 30 different players, yet some still single out players and the coaches. Wake up who are the constants in all this? Answer that and you find who are solely to blame, blaming others is deflecting it away from them.

Plus if we did sack him, who could we attract who could realistically turn the sh1t storm around?

As for saying it works for Chelsea @Fordy117@Fordy117 don't be a WUM, one team have multi million pound players, some of the best in England and the other team can't kick a ball to each other, guess which is which.

Fair question @hippo@hippo, we saw with the sacking of Stuart that our problems don't just go away and the team start winning, 3 coaches/managers have not stabilised the club.
IMO if we change the coach again he will need several games to assess the squad (some coming back from injury) then we hope he can turn us around, another massive risk, I'm suprised Hopkin hasn't got us more points but I think hes our best option at the present time.

I won't and we are going down whether he stays or goes, which is my point, he isn't the problem. Instead of constantly WUMMING and moaning, why not try coming up with a few answers of your own. Who would you bring in to save us? They have to be realistic as well, might be hard for you as you seem to only know the big premier league teams, they don't count.

Until he's allowed to bring his own players on then he's got time in my book.. Getting relegated would be a disaster, however he still isn't to blame if we do go down.. Look what PP did in his first season, barely kept us up but then transformed the club, I fear it's going to take going down for this mess to be sorted properly.

It is an awful prospect to even consider dropping down to league 2, but that is exactly what we are facing. As others have said there is no magic bullet that can turn this around. We just have to hold our nerve and stick with Hopkin regardless of the league position. Another issue to consider is who the hell would come here?? It would be enormously disruptive to the squad for yet another manager to come in. The problem is not the manager or the players, so no matter who the manager is the situation is the same. Hopkin will turn it around, but not sure if he will before it is too late. However, signs on Saturday we might be coming together as a team, we will know if we can keep this up over the next few matches.

One of the best team performances this season on Saturday.
Hopkin is the man to take this club forward - he deserves a medal already. Different class to Collins. The points will start coming soon. I predict a top half of the table finish and no I'm not drunk!

    A. He shouldn't be questioned at all this season. The end.

Is he? It's one thing getting them playing fairly well in a no pressure game that they are expected to lose. It's another to get them playing in a game where there is significant pressure. Maybe it's just the results but the players seem less motivated and more brittle under Hopkin than even under Collins. The best managers find a way to motivate players no matter what but based on what someone else posted about his time at Livingston he needs a certain type of personality from his players and without a total squad revamp thats problematic.

It's all too easy for people to sit on here and say get rid. I'm afraid Fordy does it all the time. With that kind of turnover we would have 10 managers every year and go through 80 players in that very same year. We'd be facing admin simply through having to pay everyone off. I don't understand why people can't see it. There's been a change of approach to that what existed under Parkinson. We had a terrible pre season. A completely novice coach and no fitness trainer. All long before Hopkin showed up.

I don't know if Hopkin is a good manager or not. Maybe with time and patience and the chance to change things, he'll turn us round.

But its still only a maybe.

Parkinson had a similar situation, and it did take time. But this is next level bad. We are losing every game, and getting panned by poor teams. Not even drawing games or keeping clean sheets.

I remember questioning if PP was the man in those early days. A succession of piss poor loans and mediocre performances had me wondering. But it was never THIS bad. This is the worst we have ever been, and the green shoots of recovery seem to wither and die no sooner than they've emerged.

I don't take the Portsmouth performance seriously at all. We did the same against Sunderland. The players are putting themselves in the shop window, so what. It's the winnable games that are looking anything but winnable. Hopkin does bear some responsibility, but there are far more factors at play than questionable selections or tactics.

This alone won't allow us to sort out the mess. First of all we need the complete removal of a massive problem.

If DH can seriously suggest that we 'are setting new standards', I am coming to the view that he is as deluded as Rahic.

I think the difference with parky was he knew what he had and he just took draws. We drew around 7 or 8 from October onwards before we started to turn and parky just played defensive football and ran with it. He wasn’t one to care about the style of play.

Hopkin seems to be trying to run before we can walk. Go 5 at the back. Pack the midfield and grind out the results. I don’t care if people call it boring but dive, foul, take time over throw ins and corners. And just grind it out. Take some 0-0’s and we might Nick the odd 1 nil win on the way.

At the minute we are not even getting close to results apart from Saturday.

The recruitment has been a farce since the summer 2017 window. Individually the players aren't that bad but it's a bit like building a PC. You don't just buy the best components you can afford, you have to make sure they are compatible with one another. You can't put an AMD processor in an Intel socket.

I can't see that happening anytime soon.. what needs to happen is he & Rupp need to assign a budget to the manager and create a footballing structure that has accountability across the board.. Yes I am fully aware that this is unlikely to happen

I agree with that, though I'd go 4-5-1 rather than 5-4-1.

Ball on one wing, Payne on the other. Akpan, Wright and O'Brien in the middle until Jim comes back.
