Which the manager has failed to address.

It was the lack of desire yesterday!

In a ‘normal’ season, Hopkin has not done enough for a club to still back him. But as we know, normal does not come into this season. Looking at the whole squad, we have some good players and some proper garbage. He needed to do more with recruiting better defenders but our financial plight may have made that near impossible. Not sure if it was lack of finance or his philosophy that prevented a target man and wingers being recruited. We don’t know the circumstances but it has n’t worked.

Overall I feel he has under achieved in what has been a tremendously difficult season. He may have gambled that he could improve his defence but it has n’t worked. We should n’t be 2nd bottom.

The circumstances of this season should allow Hopkin more time and even if they did n’t, a change now and to who? probably would n’t help. Losing to Pompey and Luton should n’t be the measure but if we lose the next 4, leaving a target of having to win 6 out of 8, we might need the club to act to get a replacement in the hope fans come back next season even if by some miracle we survive. Desperate times.

Are you forgetting a certain Tuesday night at the end of January? I definitely saw fight and desire that night and how much the win meant to the players. That result gave me renewed confidence that we had enough to get out of this mess but since then I haven't seen anything like the same commitment and desire from the players and I honestly don't understand it. I really felt after that night that we would get at least 6 points from our next 4 games, possibly 8 but in reality we've ended up with 2.

For what it’s worth, I think whatever the outcome of this season we need to hold onto the majority of the current management and coaching team. Starting again, financing an overhaul just dosnt seem sensible for on and off field reasons.

However, given just how much disarray we are in we need focal members of the club supporters can associate with. No surprise we had that when we had recent success. I’d start by finding anyway possible of getting Gary Jones involved in the squad. I don’t care if it’s getting paid good money for a fabricated role, as long as he’s in and can identify with players and the club and help Hopkin et al build a squad worthy of playing for this club and supporters, then it’s good money we’ll spent IMO.

Look at Man Utd at present, a totally different club when players and supporters have a management team within that they can identify and KNOW THE CLUB.

I’m pro Hopkin for now. He’s absolutely not innocent out of all of this, but I want The opportunity to see what he can do with a team of his own building, rather than the majority of this dross he has at the moment.

Big worry. How much longer does he want to keep putting money in with very little back? He's not a 'football man'. From a business/investor point of view its a bad investment, nobody likes making a loss on an investment.
If he looks back or even asks Rhodes about League 2 and the difficulties of getting out of it he may decide that its an investment that he may just take a loss on and walk away before it costs him a lot more and a bigger loss.

That must be the aim @Bronco@Bronco thatp season was the start of some good times and it came after a few years of suffering let’s hope we can repeat that if we go down. I haven’t given up hope yet

Its hard to put into terms just how much damage Rahic has done to this club in such a short space of time, to the point i’m not sure if anyone could have turned this team of individuals around. We’ve been led a merry dance by him and to a lesser extent Greg Abbott. Just look at what part of the wage budget is tied up with Wright, Riley, Scannell, Reeves and Jones. No wonder we had nowt in the pot in January. As you correctly alluded to, he ain’t blameless. How much of a role he played in a shambolic January transfer window remains to be seen, i’d like to know just which players he did try to bring in. January has cost us big time but we don’t whether its because we didn’t identify realistic targets or whether HopkinS thought we were strong enough in vital positions.

A repeat of a few years of suffering when we go down? I’ll leave that to the likes of you and 6,000 others who have nothing better to do. I ain’t paying to watch that.

I'm still hoping Hopkin can get enough points to keep us in league one, as yourself I haven't given up yet, but I'm not confident he can get enough out of this squad to do that.
If he stays the likes of. Wright, McCartan, Reeves etc days are numbered, and the likes of O'Brien, Payne, Ball etc will be returning to their own clubs, will Stefan have the appetite for rebuilding the squad, worrying times mate.
